| I am looking for a new bolt for my custom 98. I have a flatline barrel and i here that some bolts dont work well with the faltline. I am interested in the shocktech bolt but are their any other bolts that work just as well? |

The stock internals, you will find, are far better for your 98 than any aftermarket parts.

the only time I would recomend you getting a new powertube or bolt to you...is if the powertube cracks, or something gets messed up on your bolt. so keep the stock internals unless something happens. then i would recomend something like the Dead On Pro-seal to you, cuz basically metal>plastic. There is no need to upgrade any internals in a Tippmann let alone just the front.. All of them are fine. |

Not in my experience. I have found the Rufus Dawg Wicked bolt (and matching power tube)to handle fragile paint MUCH better than the stock bolt. I have switched back and forth several times just to test my conclusions. I break less paint with the RDW bolt than I broke with the stock bolt or the Shocktech bolt (yes, I have wasted a lot of money and tried them all). I settled on the Rufus Dawg over a year ago and have NO regrets. Shocktech was OK until I got hold of a batch of fragile paint. Switched to the stock bolt and continued to have a breakage problem. Went to the Rufus and all breakage problems stopped. Thought it was a fluke and went back to the stock bolt. Same problem with the same batch of paint. Reinstalled the Rufus Dawg and have been there ever since. But if anyone asks, I didn't tell you this. Printing such blasphemy against stock Tippmann internal parts will get me flamed...so keep it under your hat. (Of course everyone knows that Tippy barrels are junk and the shells have to be internally polished and microline is a better gas line than the stock braid and a center feed works better...but those internal parts are perfect...remember that and you'll never go wrong -------------

I agree with Bruce. I havent noticed the paint breakage but I have a good hopper and dont shoot fast, but i HAVE noticed an increase in accuracy.

cool. i don't have a problem with breaking paint, cause i have ACT, but if the accuracy is better than it sounds like a plus. i think i might get a wicked bolt then. does the front bolt work good alone or it is better to get the bolt and the matching powertube? ------------- http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=5504952">

The venturi moldings inside the Rufus Dawg forward bolt will only fit the Rufus Dawg power tube. The end of the tube is notched to match the inside of the bolt. The Rufus Dawg bolt comes with the power tube. I don't think you can buy them seperately. -------------
