We all have our phobias and it's interesting to hear what others' fears
are. List in some sort of order to show which one is most intense.
Greatest to least:
1. Being alone: I can't stand situations where I can do a 360 turn and
hear nor see any people. There are only a few exceptions and that is
usually in my room or other confined space. I still remain a little
paranoid especially when I know for certain that there is no one else
in the house. Any small noises get me really freaked out when I know
the house is empty.
2. Dark windows/doors or facing away from a dark place. If it's pitch
black outside my window or door, I will close whichever one it is: That
means door closed and locked and blinds shut. It doesn't mater if there
are people with me or not. The same feeling is there when I'm with a
group of people and there is no one behind me in a dark place (for
example: sitting around a campfire).
3. People with severely distorted features or faces. A prime example is
Elephant man. It sets off my paranoia very quickly. Unlike the others,
I can stand watching such things in the presence of other people but
when alone I freak out.

Spiders- absolutely terrified of them. I'll freak out when they
are near me. Paintball is actually the reason I'm so afraid of
them(long story) and I've actually got another funny/paintfull spiders
+ paintball story as well.
Heights- Not just any heights. I love flying, bungi jumping, plan
on skydiving and the like. It's standing on open platforms that
scares me. So I guess falling would be more suitable.

I don't like hights when I think I could fall. I love planes and roller coasters and whatnot but I hate ladders and roofs....
I also have a slight fear of water but thats just because I only learned to swim last summer and I'm not great at it.....
My real fear is that I'm going to let my lazyness and the lack of motivation that waxes and wanes daily get the best of me and I'm going to screw my life up somehow....I'm trying to get ahold of all that though...
I've also got anxiety when I'm around new people or during speaches but I don't think I'd call that fear. I just have to get comfortable in a new place and I've got basically full confidence and I'm working on being able to speak in front of people so it's not anything major anyway.....

Well I have a really odd one, not because of the fear but because of
the circumstances. I'm afraid of "falling" as most of you put it,
heights on an open platform, here is the wierd thing: I fly with
my door open a lot of the time. Unlatched, that is, sometimes
open enough to wear I can clearly see through the opening..
Mostly
its just because it gets hot in the cockpit. (yes, IJM, I know
that I'm not supposed to)
Secondly, like some of you I can't stand dark places behind me. I
really get on edge if I'm sitting somewhere and there is a really dark
place behind me or to my side. I especially can't stand it if I'm
alone.
Thirdly, I don't like being out of my room alone in the house. It
just gets me on edge to be walking around the house knowing that I'm
alone.
Fourth, walking outside of my house at night to one of the cars. I
know it sounds stupid, but there are woods all around, and at night it
gets pretty creepy, especially with all the deer. Imaging walking
outside alone, almost no light with dark woods all around you and
you see one or two sets of eyes.

seeing/potentially getting into a car accident. The sounds, smells, and outcomes are never good. i've been in too many close calls, and know too many hurt or kiled in accidents. adding to that, driving near/surrounded by big trucks on the orad can be a little uneasy too.

Heights, which, Im wierd with this one. Im ok bieng on the roof of my
own house, and I can look over the ledge and everything. But I freak
out when I go to the mall and lean over the railing on the second floor
and look down.
Small spaces, but only when their so small that I cant move at all or
barely breath, I really freak out then. But Im ok with small rooms or
elevators.
When I was little I was really afraid of bieng abducted, I think I watched too many alien movies as a kid.
Getting in a car accident and losing a limb, or going blind, or deaf,

Fascinating.
This is actually one of my greatest likes. I love being alone in a dark quiet place, either indoors or outdoors. A midnight walk in the woods is wonderful, or vacation deep into the mountains with nobody around.
As to fears - frankly, I'm not sure that I have anything that immediately freaks me out. There are plenty of things I am afraid of or that I find unpleasant and creepy, but I can't think of a phobia-style fear that I have. General fear of helplessness, I guess, but that's a tad vague.
I shall ponder further.

I hate being in a situation that i cannot control, so when i go some place i want to know everything, i want to know whos doing to be there, who they are to me, what they do. Stuff like that.
Also, i get really edgy in new surroundings and around new people. Put me in a house that i dont know and with people i dont know. Ile be itching to leave.

I hate spiders. Only certain sizes actually make my skin crawl, but I don't like any of them.
I'm not exactly afriad of needles, but I HATE having blood drawn. My wife has to drag me through the door and I about crush her hand waiting on the needle. I almost cried last time. But oddly enough, I have three piercings.
I was horrible traumatized in high school by an idiot when I went to give blood. She tried putting the needle through my bicep's tendon, knowing that she was pushing through it, and she couldn't hit one of my veins that you could drive a truck through. She twisted it around and around, pushing the needle in and out over and over again, (I nearly threw up it was so nauseating) and when the blood finally kept flowing she went to mark the bag. She hadn't taped down the needle and it slid out of my arm. I remember it clearly. It felt hard and smooth like a waterslide, and my very life's blood spurted from my arm about a foot high. The first spurt had me confused. The second spurt had my full attention and I slapped two fingers over the hole. The lady stood back up and asked if she could put it back in, casually, as if she were commenting on the weather. I wasn't about to let the hack touch me again, let alone with a needle that was now on the gym floor. I bruised from my elbow to my wrist, and it hurt for a couple of days where she had driven the needle in and out.
That fear might be letting up. The last guy I had was very, very good. As soon as he stuck me I let go of my wife's hand and stared at the needle in shock that I was still alive.

The only 2 I can think of (probably because one of them is irrational, and the other is on my mind), fear of deep water (or very large things, not sure which yet), and fear of inadequacy in my career.
- I'm afraid of icebergs, and deep water. If it's over 6 feet, or gives the perception of being deep (mirky lake water or such), I start panicking. Also, one night at like 1 am last summer, I was walkign alone, looking up at the sky, and then started thinking about the universe and space and such, freaked me out so much I hopped a couple fences in order to get home and into my house as fast as I could.
- I'm afraid that I won't be able to accomplish my goals in the army because I simply won't be good enough, lack the talent or something.

Someone or myself putting me in a situation that could result in imprisoment. I don't do anything horrible and a common basis like burglary of that kind. Jus tthe usual teenage bs. But over reacting and taking drast measures in the heat of the moment. Striking a j-waling pedestrian while speeding and getting vehicler manslaugter. Things like that.

I had a guy do that once. He was looking for my sister. It was about 2 am and I had stayed up all night playing video games with my friend and we'd cracked the window a few inches because it was nice out. I happened to glance over and there was a pair of eyes, staring right back at me. I grabbed the nearest large knife (more common in my room in those days) and ran out the front door to confront. It was a guy from school. Suddenly I was labeled the psycho.
Me? I'm not the one peeking in people's windows at 2 am looking for underage girls.

About five years ago, some girl was in my alleyway urinating. All I heard was a noise so I go outside to investigate. We met eyes, she then pulled up her pants and casualy walked away. Strangest thing that ever happend.
I moved my room to the basment recently and I have window facing the alleway. So now I have a blanket haning up on the window so I can't look out and nobody can look in.

hand me down a friend let you barrow.

I see a lot of fears that people have already mentioned that I have as well.
needles. I mean I like to sew and stuff, but getting shots bothers the crap
out me!
I like heights, but am terrified of falling.
Worms and snakes scare the hell out of me!! Actually anything that moves
without limbs scares me. This includes people with ampbutated (sp) body
parts.
everything else is pretty much free game.

I have a very real, very intense fear of ladybugs. I´m fine with most other insects, but ladybugs scare the crap out of me.
There was an infestation in the window next to my bed for two winters - I opened my window (as I often do on winter nights) and woke up under a sheet of ladybugs.
They got into all my stuff, too. I´d open schoolbooks during class and find ladybugs crawling through them.
I hate those guys.

Since this topic is bumped,
I love to be up high, I like the dark, I like bugs to a limited extent. Needles, or closed places don't bother me. I like blood in movies and stuff too..
I hate being unorganised but I'm not afraid of it.. It's hard to say because I don't really have anything to be scared of.
I rememeber once I was sleeping and at around 3:00 my stepsister knocked on my window. She was on the roof on the top of my house and she told me to unlock the front door. God it was random..

Heights in certain cases.
Snakes and spiders when not behind a cage.
Very thin needles.
Being lost in the middle of the ocean.
Seeing something staring in my window while up at night. (Bathroom window, window above kitchen sink.)
A nightmare I have had: In my back yard in pitch black night shining my flashlight, and I see this

well i stole the first two
1. Being alone: I can't stand situations where I can do a 360 turn and hear nor see any people. There are only a few exceptions and that is usually in my room or other confined space. I still remain a little paranoid especially when I know for certain that there is no one else in the house. Any small noises get me really freaked out when I know the house is empty.
2. Dark windows/doors or facing away from a dark place. If it's pitch black outside my window or door, I will close whichever one it is: That means door closed and locked and blinds shut. It doesn't mater if there are people with me or not. The same feeling is there when I'm with a group of people and there is no one behind me in a dark place (for example: sitting around a campfire).
and then there is like always going back to make sure i turned the lights off or closed the garage door. sometimes i'll more than quadruple check. or lights, you know if you dont flip the switch all the way off it can start a fire sometimes i'll stand there for a while and feel the switch to make sure its like all the way off.
