all my friends are getting a-5's with flatline barrels. and i want tp
"1 up them" by upgrading my 98c. so far i just have a stock 98 with an
apex. now i was thinking of upgrading the whole shooting mechanism by
making it fully auto. is there anything better better than the cyclone
feed system? and is there anything better than r/t (which my friends
have)?

you could upgrade to the cyclone and get an electric hopper, or get the ebolt or the response trigger....theres alot of stuff you could do, depends on your preference and what sort of cash your working with

If you have $150, you should definitly get the r/t and cyclone feed. Your gun will have a great woodsball setup then.

theres really nothing better than the cyclone, you could always get that for around 60 on action village and then a cheap electronic hopper off ebay or something....i have a 98 as well and im into woods, the upgrades that i have are a 16"cp barrel, folding stock, double trigger and a remote line....ive never really worried about firepower in woodsball, ive just used good old fashioned tactics....last time i played with my friend we wiped out the other team who had upper end markers but werent good players...
if your lookin to be one up on your friend through upgrades thats gonna lead to a game run around...you want a one up on him, kick his butt in the game and brag how you beat him with a less upgraded marker.

but the r/t isn't fully auto.

Technically it is. I will put it into comparison for you. The e-grip, in full-auto mode, is rated at 17 bps. The r/t, finely tuned can achieve rates of up to 20+ bps. The r/t is much faster than the e-grip.

the e-grip is 15 with the stock board and the regular r/t is 17, super r/t is 22. was/ape boards for the e-grip can reach 25+

According to Tippmann the e-grip can fire at rates of 17 bps. I don't know if this is correct though because they also say that the r/t can only fire 15 bps.
The point is, the r/t is still better than the e-grip.

^^^what is that thing and how much does it cost? and also with r/t dont
you have to find the "sweet spot"? and when im in battle i will
probably just get all shakey and nervouse and forget where it is. i
just want to hold down the triger and.. "PAT PAT PAT!".

The r/t or response trigger is an air assisted firing system for the 98c. It is a piston behind your trigger that pushes your trigger back in place to get ready for the next shot. It is completely powered by blowback gases that your gun normally wastes so you don't need batteries. There are also no electronics to fry when you accidently drop you gun in the water.
If you call Tippmann and ask for the bigger hoses, the r/t can achieve 20+ rates of firing. It costs $75. I would suggest getting it as it is perfect for woodsball. The sweet spot is very easy to find. You practically hold the trigger down for a full auto effect. The trigger sort of bounces off your finger.

It sounds like you could use a little more experience. Don't rely on
having superior fire-power to eliminate your enemies. Work on your
tactics and control yourself. You are trying to take the easy way out,
which will probably work for a time or two, but sooner or later, you
will lack the neccessary skills of being able to use tactics and
different situations to your advantage in order to prevail. Trying to
out-do your friends by upgrading your gun makes you seem desperate.
Learn how to defeat them with simple means. Then, later on, you upgrade
your fire-power situation to really put the hurting on them! (I'm sorry
if this sounds harsh, but I have mean friends)

i do have "skill" its just that when you see 2 people running across a
open, flat field no more than 30 feet from you and you send a barrage
of paint at them and it seems like god himself is guiding those balls
away from them that you relize is it tactics or is it your equipment.
Another time i see a kid walking up a 4 wheeler trail im hiding in the
woods he has no idea im there, i open up on him yet he shoots me twice
in the side and once on my unprotected neck (ouch! the welt went away
after 5 days). he was using a a-5 with a flatline.

The more you play, the calmer your nerves become. Its not the gun, its you more than half the time. The trick is patience.

unless you have the brand new 98 custom with new, upgradable reciever
halves, then you cannot get the e-trigger. The e-trigger only fits the
new 98 customs and custom pros because of the different trigger/sear
setup. You could possibly get the e-grip, but they are hard to track
down and when you do find them, they are about $300. So, unless you
want to buy a new gun, you might have utilize the response trigger the
best you can. You could sell your 98 custom and get a little cash out
of it, then save up and buy the new 98 custom pro E with A.C.T.- it's
electric and anti-chop. Just take your time and think about it, read
some reviews, and make sure you are getting the gun that best suits
your needs.

I have an R/T on my 98C and I wouldn't change it for an e-trigger. I've been planning on eventually getting the e-trigger but this past weekend I played an 8-hour scenario and was amazed at how I had no problems whatsoever with my setup while I saw a bunch of guys with electronic guns run into problems with it, having to take it apart and such. Not to mention having to replace batteries.
With the R/T, once you get it to your desired ROF, all you need to concentrate on is aiming properly.
