You mill your marker.

Do a search on "milling"

Read up on draw filing (Google search). It is easy and fairly quickly accomplished. And all you need is a vise and a couple of inexpensive files...one coarse and the second a little bit finer.

Hog off the letters with the coarse file then smooth things with the finer finish file. Have a file card on hand to keep the metal from clogging the teeth of the files.
