hello i am looking into turning my gun into a rifle. my first milsim thing ever. i drew up these pics and tell me what you think and offer suggestions: (yes i know they were crappily drawn in paint but you get the picture) tell me if you like remote or hidden tank better. the thing that will make this better than the rest of the rifle mods is that i wont be using a permade stock. i will be making a new one myself. that way i can make it blend and contour with the gun.

first my normal gun right now: (no barrel)

second my rifle with a normal air intake with tank inside stock:

third my gun with a remote:

nah wouldnt get rifle stock or carbon fibre. what type of wood do you think would be best. has to be cheap, nice, and strong. weight is second priority.

plywood looks like crap. are you sure about it on the ak? unless there is better plywood than that you can buy from a hardware store.

Well, you can get some really nice hobby plywood from craft stores... Its just as strong, although its a lot smoother and its not chipped.  Though it also comes in smaller sizes than the stuff from the hardware store.

Everyone has this idea, but you guys gotta realize that you'll need some real long E.T. fingers to reach the trigger, youd have to move it back to make it work well.

In your rendering, it will be impossible to shoot it as you normally would because of how far up the trigger is

why don't you do something like a shotgun or a PSG-1 where it has the
stock, but it has a trigger frame as well? that would be easier. you could
make a wood frame like the one in your pic, only with a slot for the grip
frame as well.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing, but I was just gonna buy another UTG M324 (airsoft model M24) and take the lower body portion and modding that onto my A5 somehow, when i get around to finishing it I will put up pics

Using a spray on textured paint, like "Hammered", will cover imperfections, give it the look of a synthetic stock, and blend well into the black plastic of the gun. I tried making a rifle with a procarbine... it did not suit me well enough. Be sure to find a scope or sight of some kind that's elevated enough to make the gun usable with a mask on. That's the biggest problem I've run into with rifles.

well sorry to bring an old thread back. for a while i thought this was impossible and gave up as im not allowed to mill gun.

ive been thinking:

what if i bought a blade, ripped that crap apart, and made a bolt action paintball gun out of it.

http://imageshack.us/">

basically making one of those from scratch

do you think i could make a magazine style loader that would be hidden under the stock (right above where the bipod is mounted) how would i make a non-gravity loader?

oh and do you think the blade has metal internals like bolts too, or is it all plastic inside and out?

do you guys think if i get rid of everything but the moving parts of the blade and put them in like a metal pipe do you think that would work? would it work well like fairly accurate, obviously on a bolt action rof doesnt matter just accuracy.

anyways blade seems to work and fit as co2 cartrage is allready behind it easirer to put in stock.

Carl, dont post.

Making a rilfe out of a blade is a complete waste of time. I was around when the below was created...and it took the guy forever. Even as good as he was. I believe it was thompson shooter who did it, but dont quote me on that. Thompson has basically his own company that modifies paintball markers to look milsim. If it took him that long to do it with all the machines and stuff he had there no way you can since you cant mill. I realize I can't get through to you, because you've blown off all my input before about how sniping just doesnt work, but whatever....this thread make me laugh.

how do you know i cant mill?

and youve never given me any input on sniping. i know there are no snipers.

and really people are suggesting things that will never happen. i wouldnt ever use carbon fibre. im gona use wood maybe maple.

no offense buy you're almost as annoying as me. *oh burn*

Bamboo is a bad choice for a wood stock, you need something strong, while bamboo may not break, Its flexible and it does chip. It would probably be hard to buy a blank of bamboo big enough anyway. Just try buying a synthetic stock or a wood one off ebay and try your hand at it. It takes at leats 5 hours to fiinsh and a whole lot of patience.
