i think a shotgun from tippmann would be awsome. i know the C-3 is kinda like a shotgun but it needs to look more like a shotgun with like a fixed stock that will come with it, and shotgun sights. and every time you cock it 3-5 balls would drop into the chamber(i would like 5) when you shot it the balls would spread a little but still stay relitive accurate and have a decent range. the hopper would have to be   low profile like the A-5.

maybe i should of patented this idea and sold it no im to inlove with tippmann so post what you think

i think that a shotgun paintball gun would be wicked awesome!!!

now...i heard of some smaller paintballs than .68... like a .40....

you could get more of those into a chamber....the problem with that is that a shotgun uses a wad to keep the bbs together.  otherwise the gas would just leak around the bbs/paintballs and they would just roll out....

wicked cool idea though....

this is an overused topic.  if you wanna shoot multiple balls at once, get ahold of Palmers Persuit Shop.  i'm sure Glen will rig some multibarrel'd thing up for a couple grand.  i've shot a Double barreled marker before though...  not quite as satisfying as it sounds.  they're heavy, eat through paint, and harder to maintain.

oh my, its easy enough just to say: OMG 1M G0NNA MAKE T3H UB3R PAINTBALL SHOTGUN!!!111, but do you have any idea how youd make this? load the balls in front of each other and you just make a mess, load em side by side and thats just....i dont even know what that is, load em into a fat barrel and all the gas escapes from the gaps in between. come up with some plans maybe, and if not.....SEARCH!!!!

i had an idea, its the fat barrel thing, but you could make a plug...

i dont know how to describe it, so maybe ill draw it....

ok here is the idea...came up with it when i was bored at work... oh yea, i also dont know if itll work either, just kinda bored.....

and how exactly does that....mediocre drawing function exactly?

Posted By: ardyandkari

i dunno, i was bored remember...

basically i was thinking that the air would push the plug forward with enough force to launch the balls from the barrel...but remember i was bored...and the only one here who came up with even an idea as to how it COULD maybe but probably not be done....

and yes i have heard of 3 round burst, but i think that if this could be done and it worked, people would mess in their pants if you came out to the paintball field with this mega ultra huge gun..................................

and yes, i know that the idea almost assuredly wouldnt work, but come on...im grasping at straws here....

did i mention that i was bored???

How is the C3 anythng like a shotgun other than the fact that it's pump action????  wouldn't a brass eagle talon also be like a shotgun, or for that matter any pump every created.  Not all shotguns are pump action either, there are autoloaders, pump, break-action, bolt action (yes bolt-action), lever action, and muzzleloader shotguns (may be a few more that i forgot/didn't know)  An autoloading shotgun reloades in a very similar way as a 98 or an A5

it would be too out of control.  A pump gun with special scenario "shotgun" rules would probably be the best solution.

It takes some work but you can do it, you need PVC, CO2, .40 cal. paintballs, and have fun designing the shells. You could also modify a pump.

One way to do this is put a cotton ball down the barrel, put some small paint balls, and put another cotton ball to semi secure them in. Its crude but effective.

The problem with the idea of a paintball shotgun is multiple balls going down the same barrel, they tend to break, and they tend to loose velocity. A lot of velocity.

yea i kinda thought that that would be the case...

btw, i saw 6mm paintballs....anyone ever used these???do they actually break? or do they suck bad???

I think so. They may be even smaller than what I'm thinking of though. Are they for blowguns? Those work pretty good.

The idea is highly possable. Infact it is possable, a friend and I did some work a while back on the idea, never went anywhere, more like we were bord.

Crude version is muzzle loading. The problem of velocity loss can be solved by putting something in before the paint. We used cotton balls. I'm sure a normal paintball would work too, I don't know why we never thought of that.

Now if your really ambisious, I saw an airsoft shotgun the other day that had shells and fired I think it was 3 BB's at a time. I figure that with a little work one could do the same with paintball. I think the shells had compressed gas in them. I'd say go buy this as a model to play arround with and get ideas but i recall it being like $400. But look online and get some info, maybe you can build the prototype of a painball shotgun that looks and functions like a real shotgun. Market it and scinario players would eat it up.

ok, had a better idea than that crap one that i had before...

talking about the 6mm paintballs made me think...that is about the size of certain shotgun shot.....

now, i was thinking you could take an expended shot shell

now what you could do is cut the base off (leave the ridge...that will help later on.)and cut off the ridged top.
pack a cotton ball in the base of the shotshell, fill halfway or so with 6mm paint bbs, then place another cottonball in the top. make sure that the cotton balls hold the bbs tight, that way there is less chance for them to break.

that was my idea for the shells, now here is my idea for the gun...

take an old pump shotgun...remove the innards (firing pin, and other stuff that makes it go boom) leave the trigger, pump and stuff that loads the shells.
cut a hole in the stock big enough for a 9oz co2 canister

now is where the details that i dont know come in to play.

somehow, place the guts of a pb gun into the shotgun...

sorry, i really know nothing about the innards of a pbgun or shotgun, but this actually seems plausable...kinda expensive, ill admit, but REALLY cool!!! the shells would be loaded just like a normal shotgun shell, would hopefully be ejected just like a normal shotgun shell, and the milsim world would finally have that shotgun that we want sooooo much...

also, if anyone gets rich off of my idea, i just want a little credit (and if you really want to you could give me some money)

i think a shotgun could work if the paint could be controlled
