I have plans!
Picking up 1750rds of 5.56mm from a guy in Alexandria tomorrow for $200. Mix of 55gr FMJ and 55gr ballistic tip. The ballistic tip is particularly effective against zombies. And high hippies I might mistake for zombies. Better to take em out, just to be safe. |

Is FMJ good against zombies? I would think you would want less penetration and more expansion. I prefer large caliber hollow-tip for zombie destruction. Works pretty well on hippies, too. |

Realistically for any large mammal (humans or quasi-humans, such as hippies or zombies included) you want a better performing round- 7.62, or ideally 6.8 SPC . That being said, since neither zombies nor hippies are likely to engage you from more than a few feet away, 12 gauge slugs are by far the most satisfying to hit 'em with. The polymer tip on the VMAX rounds provide for devastating expansion. Either one will take out zombies, but might need a double-tap with the FMJ. I have another 1700rds of FMJ and 800rds of HP at home. Plus almost 1000rds of mixed FMJ/HP 9mm should the zombie/hippie count run high enough to exhaust rifle ammo (a possibility here in NoVA). I'd like higher caliber... a 7.62 with .45ACP backup would be sweet... but need to stick with what I have and stockpile ammo, rather than have more guns with nothing to feed them. 4:20pm I should just be turning onto Connecticut Ave in DC... can't have a firearm with me in the district... might be a problem. Hopefully I can make it home in time to beat the zombie/hippie crowd before they leave the confines of their basements in search of food. If I can't make it to the house before the munchies set in... I'm toast. |

8mm mauser. since zombies usually come at you in droves, take a bunch out with some good penetration. good ol 38 also, just in case. mausers work good fore hippies too. need a good round to get through their thick skulls...

Ball rounds are just referring to the powder used. The military uses ball powder instead of stick powder because it burns faster and is more efficient over time. Stick powders tend to lose "punch" over time. As well as being a slower burning powder. Shotgun powders and cannon powders are stick powders. /endrant I agree about the Vmax. It is an incredible bullet for varmint hunting. Probably be very effective against hippies and whatever else also. If you reload, try the 77grain boattail Vmax. We use the 77grain boattail solid tip very effectively out to about 600yards in the AR15. The military (specifically Marine Marksmenship Team) uses 77 grain rounds when shooting long range at Camp Perry. That is where I learned about it. The larger projectile is less affected by the wind. It also delivers more energy to the target due to the increase in mass. Which is always good when hunting hippies and zombies /hijackcomplete ------------- RLTW |

Incorrect. 'Ball' in military parlance refers to any 'normal' FMJ round, not expanding. 'Ball' would be used as opposed to 'tracer', or 'armoured piercing', or 'jacketed hollowpoint'. my BB gun got quite a bit of action, i was about 25 yards out and poped 6 shots (one of the old daisy BB guns) off before the stoners figured out where i was. i'll take and post picture of their tagging left if i get a chance and if the HOA hasnt cleaned it up already (their good about getting graffidi up). |

4/20 > All holidays. What other holiday do you get to hang out with friends, smoke some dank, listen to music, and eat to your heart's content? The police generally leave people who are smoking weed alone, and everyone just chills. Since it was a holiday, I said screw my probation officer. She hasn't drug tested me since I got on (7 months ago), so I had a good time with my friends and a $350 bag. -------------
