well iv noticed the large lack of pictures showing the a.c.t. system so i decided to take some of my new marker which i recieved today. sorry about the blurriness its hard to get a good picture in my room. i hope this helps all those people who have been talking about getting it as an upgrade or trying to do mods with it etc. iv found that most stocks will need to be modified to accomidate the extra spring at the top.

What stocks have you tried? Because I ordered a 98 ACT and bought a PCS Folding stock for it. Should this fit?

That seems like an easy fix for the stock mod. Just to make a small modification for the top spring since the stocks for the 98 ACT's have only 1 hole made for the middle spring. But this is a fairly new model so the Tippmann company should see this problem and make a stock available for purchase which does not involve modification. And has anyone moded this ACT version for a stock to give us even more detail on tips for modificatoion?

I've ordered the custom pro e with act, and currently have a tapco folding stock (AKA: The PCS folding stock).  I hope it works, I guess I'll find out and try to post if it does.

the only mod you would have to do for the stocks is drill a hole for the upper spring, relatively easy as long as you have a drill press, as for how it works, as far as i can tell if the ball makes contact with the bolt it generates enough force to push on the top spring which allows the linkage arm to stay in plave while the rear bolt keeps moving, how ever once it gets past a certain point the linkage arm is locked in place (it has this weird movement in the top of the reciever which makes it so the top spring kinda locks in) anyway i hope this info helps you all. oh btw im using a pro team car stock (4 adjustable positions) all im gonna do it pop out the attachment and drill a small hole for the top spring, should be rather painless once you plot the point

oh btw as for sticking my finger in there i did that with the gun open to test to see how it worked and my finger did stop the front bolt and allowed the rear bolt to keep moving but as i said once it goes past a certain point (where the rod is bent) then it wont stop. im not planning on testing this theory with gas hooked up.

proshop got these in a week or so ago, and they tried everything to chop a ball, sticking the ball in halfway and fireing, bits of it out and fireing and it would not chop anything.

can you install one of these ACT systems in a regular 98c without modification?

I really want one of those.  Once I start working and pay for my laptop, i'm definitely investing in a 98 ACT with e-trigger and cyclone.  Maybe that won't be necessary, but I like the cyclone :P

You can do it to a normal 98, you have to find the PERFECT spring though.
