Make sure that the Flatline is alligned correctly. As for breaking paint, I would say that it is the paint that you are using, you need something small-med. bore to work good with the Flatline.

Proper velocity settings are just as important as using quality paint. If you are shooting hot you aren't going to be able to hit anything. Try turning the velocity down to the 270/280 fps range, it should help.

I had the same problem last weekend after using my new Flatline for my A-5. It was a bit windy out so I assumed that had a whole lot to do with it. I also had a bit of a problem getting over 260fps so I just left it low (no time to tune) because everyone says flatlines like low fps for straight shots. I had shots going left and right like crazy all day (please note I was using field paint brand unknown). The next morning I grabbed some PMI premium balls and shot a few with the same setup and they flew straight as an arrow. I put one in my Lapco bigshot and it stopped near the end, so I grabbed a ball from the field that ended up in my rolling around in my trunk, I tossed it in the barrel and it fell right threw. Then I placed it in the end and looked in it I saw LOTS of space around it. Unfortunately I didn't have any to shot but I'm guessing the cheap small paint didn't like “my” Flatline. I plan to make time and play with it (the Flatline) next time I get to the field to see if I can figure it out. As for paint breakage, absolutely none!

Yup, PMI Premiums always shot perfectly on my A5 flatline. Of course if your field is field paint only, it could be a problem.

paint that is out of round really dosen't work well in the flatline, to check your paint put a ball on a flat surface and slightly raise one end, if it wobbles when it rolls it's oval or has flat spots and will not shoot good out of the flatty.

I bought the A-5 Stealth package which comes with the Flatline on it. Had some FPS Problems which in turn hurt my accuracy. But the Flatty didn't seem to shoot straight even when I got those fixed. Shooting hot definitely is going to risk breaking paint more due to the fact that the flatline changes the trajectory of the ball. But shooting slow means by the time your ball gets at range (near the target) it's going about 6 fps (exaggeration :P) and even looking at it wrong will make it go off target. I opted from the flatline to a J&J Ceramic 14". Overall it's more accurate and I don't lose FPS from the barrel. Think on it, are you really going to need that extra 150' of range. In woodsball you have trees and obstacles everywhere, in speedball the course isn't generally big enough for it to matter.
