It refers to the type of threading on the palmer.

If you want to hook the reg up vertical into the gun and run a line down to the handle, you want the male varient.

If you use CO2 the Palmers Stabilizer is a must have. I can't believe how much my accuracy has improved since installing the PS. The first time you use it you may only be able to get your velocity up to about 250 FPS. After about 500-1000 shots you should be able to reach 300 FPS. I adjust the velocity screw out then set my velocity with the stab then use the velocity screw for fine tuning.

I've never seen anyone own the woods because of what marker they use.

The male Stabilizer has the same threads as your CO2 tank. This is the easiest, and probably what you will want...you screw the regulator into the tombstone, run the gasline from the regulator to the ASA.

The female Stabilizer has threads to screw onto a CO2 tank. This would be the prefered setup if you used a remote coil and didn't want the regulator on your gun.
