So this act stuff that tippmann is releasing for the 98 is pretty sweet.  The only problem is when i called tippmann they told me that you can't buy the kit.  You have to buy the whole gun.  To me that sucks because first i have to buy the gun then i have to carry everything over to the new gun.  Has anyone ever found the ACT kit for the 98c?  If so where and how much.  I would love to just find the kit and install it myself.

But with the ACT, you have to do some perfect moding by drilling a hole in the stock because of the extra ACT spring. If the hole isn't perfectly spaced or at the right angle, it won't work properly. It took me about 2 hours to drill the hole and about half of that time was actually installing the stock, heres a pic.

Does anyone have a pic of the internals w/ ACT??

I could be wrong, but I think inorder to use the ACT on an older 98 you would have to mill out your internals to make space for the new cocking rod.

Actually I'm correct.  You would have to modify the internal milling on an older receiver.  Which means its very likely a kit won't ever be made available for older 98's.

Go here and check out the internals:

that really sucks man.  I really don't want to have to buy a new tippmann just to have this upgrade.  I am already planning on doing that with another gun i have.

What kinda barrel is that Bird-dog??

Do you really shoot your guns THAT fast that you need a ACT??? I think they should've come out w/ this on 98's that had response triggers/e-triggers on them, not just plain ol' 98's, b/c you're really not shooting it like an elec. gun stock.

O look, there's nothing here!

The stock hopper is still prone to jamming up, and causing breaks.

Actually i am breaking balls in my 98.  It has the response on it and i'm also using the cyclone which loads the balls faster than stock.

yea the problem with a kit is 1 the new hole for the spring and 2 the
linking rod is different and so is the gun milling cause it slides down into
the rear bold if unobstructed.
