My two friends that I go paintballing with just got new guns ( MR 2 and Electra ACS ) and I was thinking about doing some upgrades to my A5. I just dont know what I should get the response trigger or the e- grip. I just dont know what the dif from each is, as oh how they work. They seem like they do almost the same thing, but one is just more $. Can any one help? |

I have a RT and I like it.. You play at the field or woodsball? Basically If your not going a field to play then you should get a RT cause you don't have to worry about batterys and electrical probs. If you play at the field then just get a E-grip. ------------- shut up..or i'll blast ur a$$.... |

| I agree with king. I also have a RT on my 98 and i love it. That plus cyclone owns. I play mainly woods with my 98 so i don't want anything electrical about it. It just depends on where you plan on using it. |

The Egrip is electrical and has several firing mods. The RT is a small cylinder that sits behind the trigger in the grip. It has a piston that resets the trigger every time you fire. You squeeze the trigger, and it pushes the trigger back out faster than just the spring will. Which enables you to fire faster. But the side effect is that when you learn the "sweet spot," the point at which the trigger resets and fires, it will literly bounce off your finger and simulate full automatic. The RT runs off excess gas when you fire your marker.
I have RT, and wouldnt trade it. You dont have to worry about batteries, or the electrical board or magnet messing up. But the egrip is worth it for the different firing modes. It is all preference. ------------- Halo CDPaintbal.com One of the oldest running scenario fields in the southeast. |

it uses excess CO2, so you should be able to get the same number of shots with or without the R/T installed. ------------- 98 Custom milled;painted;J&J Ceramic;X-Chamber;R/T;Cyclone. |

I have both, E-grip is better overall, but the R/T still pwns in the woods.

I have both and i prefer to use the egrip. it is very consistant, with the rt you will get sputtering and uneven rates of fire. they are right about the battery thing but you wont have electrical problems. the board is laquered so it resists water damage.it is just personal preference.if you can try them out on someone elses marker that would be ideal. I find that with the rt i was haveing to put thought into what to do with the trigger but with the egrip when i see a foe i squeeze and they get painted fast!!!. pros and cons to both ------------- Dopa mi la tempesta (After me, The storm) |

I bought a r/t trigger for my 98C first and was a little disappointed, in the fact that each time you have to find the spot where the trigger will bounce off you finger and cylinder to get a rapid rate of fire. This often seemed had to do on the run. The e-grip on my A-5 is more consistant and easier to use on the run. My 98 is now just a back up and I personally think the e-grip is alot better. Trouble with the RT is that if a field doesnt allow it, when you turn it down it makes the trigger pull much stiffer......Ive used the RT in a 98 I had awhile back and im using the E-grip with my A-5 now. Ive played with all types of electrical markers in the woods during all types of rain from a misting to a full dowb pour and never had any problems with electronics......
Like someone said earilier its all preference.. To me the fact that their the same price I dont understand why most would go for an RT over an E-grip. Maybe its just that I was used to playing tourny ball and wouldnt have been allowed to use the RT and the stiffer trigger pull. |

The rt is a grat upgrade for your a5. I have one on mine and i love it. As far as fields not allowing it, thats not true. Since it technically only fires one round per trigger pull, no one can say you can't use it. As far as the stiffness in the trigger goes, you turn a screw that you install behind the cyclone which controlls the rate of fire. if you turn it all the way in the trigger will be really stiff, but when you get it to the right spot, it will be just like your trigger normally is. I've used both upgrades and prefer the Egrip. I had a battery last a year in my marker before changing it, so you don't have to worry about batteries. Besides, if the battery dies in the middle of one game, what is so bad about one game in hundreds??? If you tourney play for money, you better have the sense to put a fresh battery in before you go out on the field. Using the battery excuse not to buy is the sign of the ignorant. With any upgrade, you weigh the pros with the cons. After that you choose the obvious. If you blindly believe a battery will last forever, you will be sorely disappointed with the Egrip. -------------
