http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/article.jsp?article_id=72846&cat_id=580 - Google bought SketchUp and is giving it away for free.....

Awsome program, I used it a while back until my trial ran out. It's like 500 bucks if you buy it. There seriously has to be something drastically wrong with Google. They're are too good to be true...I mean, who sits around and thinks of stuff to buy and then give away for free? Much less a multinational uber corporation like them?

It's easier to raise an army if you have previously given the people free stuff.

Google pwns. I wonder when they'll release a video game console? I'm still waiting for free google web hosting with your own personal domain, myself. I wish it wasn't such a big DL.

Are you kidding?

Internet Explorer?

Media Player?

A zillion developer tools?

Microsoft practically invented giving stuff away for free.

Ooh. Free 3d program?

Is it more functional than Milkshape 3d?

Never used Milkshape....It's really functional though. It's not like blender, but it rocks. The main pull is it's simplicity and the speed and ease at which you can model things. It's litterally like a super napkin. Ok, not litterally but you could sit down with someone and a tablet pc and draw out their ideas in 3d right then and there with texturing and walks throughs and the whole bit. Definately worth the download time.
