Hey all!  Newbie reporting in.  I have been paintballing now for about 3 weeks.  I bought my first gun the day I started as I fell in love with the sport.  I bought a used Spyder Aggressor XT for 20 bucks as it had some issues.  $4.37 later and some new rings it worked flawlessly.  Then I decided that I wanted to upgrade so I bought an A-5 earlier this evening and bought the Double finger trigger.  No E-grips or response triggers for me...I did 4 years in the Marines firing one good shot at a time.  So, hope you all like.

I painted the Spyder the 3rd day I had it and that is what you see here.  I painted my mask the same day.

First off: Welcome fellow "new-to-the-forum" person, and also, welcome to paintball (it ain't your momma's airsoft game!) Second, nice-looking markers. Interesting paintjob on your mask. Tell 'em what's gonna happen before you even walk on the field.

Thank you all...

I plan on getting a barrel as I can get them at wholesale.  I play woodsball and am thinking of a flatline but have not made up my mind.  Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I like the Flatline, but it is more for long-range surpresion fire than accuracy. If you are looking for accuracy I would suggest a Lapco Bigshot, or a barrel kit.

LOL...it was the top of a sucker of some sort...don't ask.  Yes, I as well remember those as well...remember the T-shirt disks?  You got them wet and it was a t-shirt?  You couldn't ever get the wrinkles out but they were cool.  I think Virgin Music had them at one point!

I was thinking of going with the 14 inch Bigshot from Lapco.  Anyone have this barrel?  Can I get some pros and cons?  Any other companies I should check out?

J&J ceramic barrel. one of the best for the money. only 30$. if you somehow manage to chop a ball, just shoot through it. self cleaning. plus, its accurate.

i remember those shirts, and i was at academy once and i saw the same things, except they were boxers. i should have bought them.

After reading some info on the JJ, it seems pretty sweet.  I am looking for accuracy and silence.  Hmmmm...I have a decision to make now.

I have a Bigshot. I love it. What I would suggest you do is find out what paint you will be using the most, find out what the average size is of that paint, and base what barrel you buy off of that. You can get a lot of accuracy through a good paint to bore size match.

The Lapco Bigshot has a rather large bore, so, you can shoot just about any paintball through it without it breaking due to too tight of a fit, but you wont get the best accuracy unless you use slightly larger paints.

Also I'd like to mention that the Lapco Bigshot I ordered was one with a bead blasted finish. I was simply amazed at the durability of it. If you want a durable finish, the bead blasting is the way to go. Once I was wiping rust/metal off of the barrel where the barrel had scratched a metal frame... No damage to the barrels finish though. Now, how many other paint jobs would do that?

i like the jj cause its cheap and accurate but lapco bigshots go father and are slightly more accurate. i would go with the better bang for more buck

I use the 12" Bigshot and the RPS Big Balls shoot perfectly through it. Wal-Mart carries that paint.

We have a Wal-Mart here and Kremers Guns, which sells Nightmare paint.  I was thinking of trying Zap out.  Any of you ever try that?

On the point of the barrel, do I want the ball to be as close to the diameter as possible, or further apart?
