Hello All, I am new to the forum, as a member at least. but anyways, here is my gun, its fairly basic but it works for me. I love it.

stock A-5 except for the double trigger and remote. oh and the sight on top if that counts.

but yeah, I hate having the remote on the bottom of the grip, so I just put it right in the tombstone. the cord still kinda gets in the way when I have it on the grip, and it still reaches the CO2 fine positioned where I have it right now

Yeah, I definantly agree with you guys saying that I should get a new barrel, but I am not sure which one would be good, and also, I don't want one that is too long, if at all possible I would like to keep the barrel fairly short, around where it is right now give or take an inch or so, I see alot of barrels that are like 12 or 14 inches long, that just seems a bit to much for me.
but yeah, if you could just give me some advice on a good barrel thats around 8-9 inches long it would be appreciated

As far as firepower upgrades, I don't really need one yet, I play woodsball mainly, or when I play speedball its normally against other people with non-electro markers, so I don't really need to be able to chain out a high BPS. if I ever need to really shoot a large amount of paint just walking on the double trigger is good enough for me.

oh and one question shanis, what would you mill on the A-5? I know on the 98 alot of stuff is worthwhile milling, but on the A-5 there isn't really that much that needs to be taken off

thanks for the compliments and advice guys.

Yeah, you cant mill a whole lot on the A5...I would disregard that suggestion.

As for a barrel, LAPCO makes a 8" Bigshot.

Yeah, I bet this seems pretty odd to most, but I don't really want a stock or a really long barrel on my gun.

The thing is, a stock is mainly asthetics, it does not really help out that much (at least for me) in terms of holding the gun steadier. I would only find it getting in my way, and I would hate having to constantly shoulder my gun, I tend move my gun around alot, I don't keep it stationary. if I really felt like I needed something so that I can hold the gun steadier, a sling on the back clip ring on the A-5 would be best, so that I have more freedom of where the gun is, but I can hold the gun steady by holding the gun a bit further from my body and making the sling tight.

again, with the barrel, I would really like to keep it around where it is right now, to much longer then that and it kinda gets in the way, I play very close to the trees/bunkers, so a long barrel just makes it harder to work around that stuff.
and as for the flatline, I really don't need a 100 more feet of range, and cleaning out a flatline is a lot more of a pain that just running a simple squeagee threw it, you got to wash it out and soak it in soapy water and all sorts of annoying junk. a nice accurate 8-9 inch barrel is what I would like best

but I definantly agree that in the future I should maybe get a E-grip, that would be nice, I have a couple questions about it though, when you buy a E-grip do they give you a entire new grip frame with all the stuff in it, or is it like the responce trigger where you "drop it in" the regular frame and tune it to your likings?

also, with the E-grip what is the difference in the boards in it? I know this sounds dumb, but like I know there is the was board and the ape board and stuff like that, are those after market things that you just place a new chip in the E-grip, or do you have to buy a special E-grip with them installed professionally?

Thanks guys

yeah, I know I am kinda odd about what I want on my gun, mine definantly isn't the standard way of doing things, I don't really want the stock and responce trigger and stuff that woodsball people wants, but I don't really see a need for all the drop forwards and regulators and stuff that you normally see on speedball guns.

Nah, that's not odd at all. In fact I completely agree with some of what
you wrote. SinisterNorth suggested an 8" Lapco Bigshot and he's right on
the money. That barrel is outstanding. It's short and very accurate, length
really makes very little difference so why bother with anything longer? If
your gun performs the way you like for it to, then you have a great gun!
Stocks? Folders are always a good choice for me because there are times
that I do shoulder my weapon. And it folds neatly out of the way for CQB.

With the E Grip you do get an entire new pistol grip with all the guts. You
remove the two pins holding your grip frame on and simply replace the
entire thing, after putting a battery in of course. You do have to set the
mode though for A5 or Custom Pro. Instructions are included. This is
something new with the WAS board installed as the new ones are.

As for the "milling" thing...what's to mill on an A5 besides the small fin in
the front? And even that is just personal preference.

My only question is this...your sight. I have sights on all my guns and in
all honesty rarely use them. Do you actually use your sight?

Thanks for all the great feedback guys. it sounds like I definantly should look into the lapco bigshot.

The E-grip is also sounding more and more like something I should get, since the main thing I was worried about was wither I would be able to swap between running my gun mech and electro. It sounds like I can just swap the grips out when I want, I could just have both grips lying around and pick whichever I wanted at that particular time.

oh, and Nauzerlvr, about you question with the sight, really I don't use it very often, its nice every once in a while, but frankly I don't find myself with time very often to actually use it effectively, most of the time I just sight down the barrel, mainly it is just there because I like the way it looks on the gun.

thanks again for the compliments and advice guys.
