Ok, I was thinking for the cyclone, and its advancement with the QEV. But instead of the cyclone be powered by excess cocking gas, use a connecting rod to make it cycle flawlessly with the bolt. When the bolt reaches final back stoke a ball would be loaded. And then it would truly cycle as fast as the bolt. I dont have the time to make one, but Im pretty sure it could work well if tried. Just take a lot of tinkering to get the right length of the rod and some parts. It would still keep its title of mechanical, and be able to fire as fast as some electros. Feedback?

The had an entirely mech version of the cyclone. It was called the Gravity Power Feed. It was aviliable on the F/A. It worked by winding up a crank mechinism.

I know, but that was a spring, and like after 100 rounds you had to rewind it, this thing would cycle with low gas, and everything, no qev, no batteries and no choping, it would only cycle when the bolt reaches full back so if it half cycled it wouldnt even load a ball.

I would think you would chop. The timing would be off. If you could find a way to fix the timing issues, it might work. Otherwise I don't see it happening.

thats sort of where i got the idea, but this would keep the cyclone, its a proven system, this should be able to adapt and make it better.

Why?

The cyclone works just fine as it is. You would trade off mechanical reliability for some theoretical benefit.
