It depends. Do you play on a commercial field where you can get refills whenever you need them or are you playing in the woods where one tank has to last you all day?

I play both, but I probably play in the woods more often

I have a 9 and 2 12s. A 12 alone can last me a day. It just depends on how much you shoot and hot much your guns uses. If you wont bebale to get refills and will be playing all day, I'd go with a 20.

The response and cyclone don't use up more gas (I believe). And co2 will spit out the same amount of pressure so why the difference in "needed" sizes?

You'd be better of with a 20 oz.

This is something that depends on how you play. If you don't like the weight of a 20 oz bottle, go with a 9 or 12 oz, or get a remote. Also, keep in mind that you can carry a spare 9 or 12 oz bottle in place of one of your pods, handy if you don't shoot through a mountain of paint and travel light. Even with my A5 and Egrip set on full auto, a 12 oz will last for more than 500 shots.

Get a 20 oz and a 9 oz. Then use the 20oz as your main source and carry the 9 oz in you pocket as a backup tank incase you run out of air while shooting. Thats what I do.

get a 20 OZ and go remote, works awesome for me.
Light weight sure, a little front heavy yes, but it makes the gun very compact and is great for close action.

The Cyclone and response trigger run off of waste gases that are primarily for blowing back the bolt. They don't affect the total CO2 usage.
I have 12oz tanks. They are not too big.
All these same people telling you to get a 20oz tank are the same people who will whine about markers being too heavy. fo figure.
And a 12 is not so small that you run out in the middle of a game.
I also have an E-bolt and can go through lots of paint. Two 12oz tanks will keep me going all day.

well i just went for two 9's in place of one 20, cause it pretty much adds up to the same amout of CO2 and its a lot lighter. are there any problems with this idea?

I started out with a 9oz. It was a great size for me at the time, and now I run with a 12oz. My field only sells 20oz, which I just don't like to haul around, but I had an out of date tank last week and had to buy one at the shop.
At the outside I feel comfortable with the balance I get from a 16oz.
I use little paint so the tank size is entirely optional for me. If it weren't so squat I'd go with a 3.5oz.

I first started paintball with a 9 oz steel tank. I bought a Model 98 when they first came out, and got a 20 oz aluminum tank. The two tanks are almost identical in weight, perhaps the 9oz is slightly heavier. So I use the 20 oz and have no problems.

sorry for all the stupid questions, but how many shots would i get out of two 9 oz tanks? would it add up to about a 20? i just went with the 9s cause at Dicks the 20 oz costed as much as two 9s. rip off. and all the other stores were out of CO2 and i needed some pretty quickly

Go with a 20oz, it will suit you fine, and the response and cyclone don't use any more air than the gun alone.
