I have the LPK for the A5

It has a 1/8 hose fitting but inside is has a orifice fitting inside

(part #02-102)

1.If i got the clippard qev with 1/8 barb will the fitting effect the air flow?

2.What does the Orifice inside the line do?

the lpk i got came with a orifice piece   (it fits inside the cylinder hose that goes from the cyclone feed to the side of the gun.

will that fitting do anything with that piece in there?

if you still dont know what a orifice piece is go find a lpk manual (i cant find one online)

An orifice is where people in suits work

An orifice is an opening, you have one on your backside, but in this context its a restricting device tippman puts in the LPK kit for the Cyclone I believe it is used to reduce the volume of air going to the cyclone.

When you restrict the volume of air, the pressure rises . Think of putting your finger over the end of a water hose, the volume went down but the pressure(force) increased. I am assuming Tippmann found that the volume may be to great and therefore reduced it. A smaller hose would do a similar job (3/32) .

That makes sense.

To answer your question, keep the hose and test , if it works , keep it.

Orifice LPK part ... Tippmann part #02-102

I actually called them and asked. I was told that it does what was said earlier ...  increase air pressure and decrease volume of air passing thru. I have the clippard QEV with 1/8" fitting and hose and cant seem to properly get it on. The Orifice is longer than the area between the barb tips(between gun output and QEV input)
Here are some pics...

Orifice

The Orifice is between QEV and T

And what I plan on doing is making another one of these. I work at a place with a machine shop. I know not all of us have that luxury. But I will write down some dimensions of what I got. Good luck to anyone else trying this.

I also could .. cut the orifice I have with a dremel and use it like that... anyway. Cant wait to finish this.  Oh and the person at tippmann said he didnt think it was 100 percent necessary but concluded that if the cyclone was having feeding issues then the orifice would be the solution.

Cut a shorter length of a smaller diameter hose and slip it inside the 1/8 hose . Most pro shops carry Cocker hose (3/32) , they are about $1-2. bucks for a foot. Thats what I use.

Hope this helps.
