Cast a cold eye on giant weapons designed to destroy giant enemies that no longer exist. Cancel obsolete Cold War weapons. We applaud the nuclear force cuts announced by President Bush, but even 2,000 warheads poised and aimed at Russia are unwise. We squander $35 billion a year on this obsolete arsenal. Save half of that money, take our missiles off "launch on warning" and invite all nuclear nations to negotiate a nuclear weapons ban.

4. Reduce our Dependence on Oil & Lead the World to an Age of Renewable Energy.
Oil holds us hostage to regimes hated by their own people; their hatred transfers to us. America is 5% of the world's people but we generate 25% of the pollution that causes global warming. It's our duty to lead. We will reduce our energy consumption 25% by 2010. Make a Moon Mission scale commitment to develop solar and wind power technologies. Set and meet a goal of generating 20% of our energy from renewable sources by 2010.

8. Ensure Equal Treatment Under Law for All.
Vigorously enforce and strengthen the nation’s civil rights laws that guarantee freedom from discrimination based on gender, race, sexual orientation or physical ability. Reform America’s criminal justice system laws so that justice is no longer systematically dispensed in a way that disadvantages minorities.

I think I came across wrong on that-I'm not saying that many people feel that way, but I answered in the way the question was posed.

As for the site...the idea is commendable but some of their stances are questionable.

"Giant enemies that no longer exist?" China has the largest ground force military in the world, unless I'm mistaken. Russia may not have the budget, but they conduct all sorts of shady deals under the table. The cookie explanation was great, but misleading. The "Axis of Evil" (in which I'm pretty sure they left out N.Korea) may not generate the money we do, but their impact around the world is far more of a problem than China and Russia combined. The idea is admirable-but completely flawed because money has little to do with the nature of the threat.

Bear this in mind-for a $20 investment in a couple boxes of shells, three teenagers could take out about twenty of their classmates with a shotgun, and take the rest hostage. The money it would cost us to deal with this problem would probably be in the thousands (police, investigators, fire department personel, medical crews, etc.). Now before everyone starts arguing with this example, I'm not going scientific I'm giving you something to think about. It costs alot of money to deal with small issues. Which is why I don't believe we can cut the military budget.

I'm not even going into nuclear proliferation...

I'll agree with that.

Don't even get me started...I think our civil rights laws are fine. "Reform America's criminal justice system laws so that justice is no longer systematically dispensed in a way that disadvantages minorites."??

What more could possibly be done to make our justice system any more fair?

Wait, I know. Let's enforce a capital punishment for repeat sex offenders, make it easier for abused wives and children to get justice...or we can just spend all our time and money pandering to minorities and giving them a false sense that they are disadvantaged in our current legal system.

BTW, I'm not holding any of that as .Ryan or anyone else's political views, so don't take offence. I'm just debunking the site.
