My dragun is dropping paintballs off bad they are only dropping off about 40 yards after being shot. I know my co2 is low. Are there any other reasons its not velocity either.

Simple answer, no. The last 50-100 shots on a CO2 tank will be of very little range.

i use compressed...3000psi and its a pain to go to another town to fill it up. it would be kinda sweet to have a compresser but i herd there like 1ooo dollars

So it is not velocity! Say what? Use a little common sense. Low CO2 volume is lower pressure. HPA pressure that drops below about 1000 psi is really too low to maintain velocity. Pressure is what makes the velocity. How far will the ball go with NO CO2 or HPA in the tank?
Your 40 yard distance, actually not that bad, is reduced because your tank pressure is dropping off. Your muzzel velocity is low therefore your range is reduced. That is the way it works.

Buy old scuba tanks, get them rehydrotested and make yourself a cascade style filling system.

You would need 3, preferably 5 SCUBA tanks. For my example we will use 3. They will be names SCUBA1, SCUBA2, and SCUBA3. Your HPA tank will just be called "TANK."
You will also need one of these. This is a fill station that can attach to a SCUBA tank.

All numbers are hypothetical and are for demonstration purposes only.
Go to a SCUBA shop that will fill your SCUBA tanks to 3000 PSI. Do so. You can see already that your start up costs are high, but in the long run, you should save money.
As of now SCUBA 1-3 are all at 3000 PSI. Attach your empty TANK to SCUBA1. Fill using the adapter I linked you to above. When the pressure in the two tanks equalizes, remove TANK from the adapter. Because the pressure in TANK will go up, the pressure in SCUBA1 will be lowered. Lucky for you, the SCUBA tanks are larger, so you will lose less pressure in the SCUBA tank than you will gain in your paintball tank. This is how the system works.
Now you have (hypothetically) 2750 PSI in TANK and 2750 PSI in SCUBA1. SCUBA 2 and 3 are at 3000 PSI. You want a 3000 PSI fill in TANK. Take the adapter off of SCUBA1 and put it on SCUBA2. Attach TANK to SCUBA2 and fill. Unfortunately, you can never get to 3000 PSI, but you can get close to it.
Now you have TANK with roughly 2950 PSI, SCUBA1 with 2750 PSI, SCUBA2 with 2950, and SCUBA 3 with 3000 PSI (since it is unused).
Go play paintball. OOPS, you ran outta air. Time to fill again.
Attach TANK to SCUBA1 again. Since it is already lower, you will only be able to fill to 2000 PSI on SCUBA1, do so. Now TANK is at 2000 PSI, and SCUBA1 is at 2000 PSI. Attach TANK to SCUBA 2. SCUBA2 is at 2950, after you attach it, both TANK and SCUBA2 will go down to 2750 PSI. Now attach to SCUBA3 (which has 3000 PSI) and both TANK and SCUBA3 will have 2950 PSI.
Get the idea?
Eventually SCUBA1 will be empty. Take this to the SCUBA shop and they will fill it. SCUBA1 becomes SCUBA3, SCUBA2 becomes SCUBA 1, SCUBA3 becomes SCUBA2.
Sounds complicated, but its not. Sounds time consuming, but you can fill in 2-3 minutes once you get the hang of it.
Its also safe. Since all of the SCUBA tanks are filled to 3000 PSI, and your paintball tank is rated for 3000 PSI, it is impossible to overfill without a pump/compressor.
