I went paintballing this weekend and let one of my friends
use my A-5 with e-grip and JCS adjustable trigger. For the first two rounds the
gun worked great, but during a break for water the A-5 randomly started
shooting. The safety was on, and the trigger was untouched. After it did that,
when I pulled the trigger I could feel the switch being tripped, but it
wouldn't fire. I took the CO2 tank off and put the gun down on a bench and
started to dig through my gear to get a new battery and I could hear the solenoid
randomly clicking with the gun just sitting on the table and no one touching
it. I put a fresh battery in it, but it kept doing the same thing. After I
changed the battery, I thought maybe the trigger was set up wrong so I played
around with it, and I could feel and hear the switch being tripped but the
solenoid wasn't firing. I eventually decided to just put the A-5 back in the
truck and have my friend use a rental the rest of the day. |

I think I had a problem like this before, and what caused it was the amature pin |

I'm pretty sure it's not the trigger, I had it perfect before we went out. I adjusted it when it started messing up too, but even after re-tuning it was randomly shooting. I even took the grip off the gun, took out the trigger, and tripped the switch by hand and it wasn't working. The only thing I can really think of is the board got messed up at some point. That or the solenoid, but I'm think it might be the board.
The armature pin is fine, when I took the frame off the gun and took out the trigger group, the noid would randomly fire and shoot the pin right out of the grip. Almost launched the pin into my freinds mouth at one point, lol. |

Low battery - Try a new battery first. Sometimes if a battery is too weak, it won't have enough power to push the armature pin into the sear. Disconnected or damaged wires - If any wires become disconnected, the E-grip will not operate. Armature pin damaged or mushroomed on ends - If the armature pin has become mushroomed on its ends, this can make it too short to engage the sear properly and should be replaced. ------------- http://imageshack.us">

Try cleaning it. Maybe some dirt or something got caught on the switch and

Tried that first, no effect.
I'll look into that, mabey that's the problem
Armature pin is fine. I've probly only put 2 or 3 cases trough the gun since I got it.
I keep my gear very clean, both my guns still look almost new inside and out. I'm almost fanatical when it comes to maintenance. I looked at the switch when I was on the field and it was clean. ----------------------------- Thanks for the help, I'l look into the wire thing when I get back over to my dads house. Let me know if you have any other ideas though, that might not be it. |

If the wires look good I'll probly do that. The wierd thing is that it started working again later, so the idea that it's a bad wire might just be it. If a wire came unsoldered or something I can fix it easily enough. Although, it'd probly be a good idea to sent it to Tippmann anyway so I don't void the warenty. Thanks for your help. |

I've played with it in the rain before without any trouble, and we had only been out there mabey 30 minutes at the most. Still posible though. |
