Hello, I have recently purchased an A-5. When I screwed the tank in to test fire, I found that there was a leak from the VA, where the line goes into the gun. I checked the o-ring inside the powertube and it looks snug and fit. I also see some scratches on the polished aluminium inside the powertube. Does this have to do anything with the leak? Also, if it is not the o-ring then what other problem would it be? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advanced.

Welcome to the forum.

Is this a slow leak, or a gusher?

Thanks for the welcome.

It's not really slow but not too much to be a gusher. When I pull the trigger, the air instantaneously escapes and I can feel a cold rush of air on my hand that is holding the foregrip. Basically, it just releases it self right when I pull the trigger then stops just as the shot is finished.

But it doesn't leak between shots, and the gun shoots ok?  Or does it not shoot?

Hm.

The gun still shoots, and there is only a leak when I am shooting. No leak between shots.

You should be ok. When you fire, co2 escapes everywhere. Do you know
what your chrono is? If it is good, then it is fine and normal.

Alright, I hope it's okay, but even if its kind of plentiful it's okay? It's not gushing bad, but it's not much of a minor leak either.

First, check your velocity.  Then try to get a sense of how many shots you are getting from your tank.

It could just be blowback coming out the wrong place, which is harmless.  Or there could be a leak that could reduce your efficiency.

Oil the valve o-ring.

I guarantee.

Ok, I oiled the o-ring and I had a chance to try it out. The oiling did help but not completely. Some air is still coming out with minimal now, although I still feel it on my trigger hand a little bit. When I shot it with the velocity screw just a little bit from in (low velocity setting), it shot alright and seemed consistant enough. With some air still coming out, would that now be considered normal? I did not have enough paintballs or air to test if the 20oz lasts around 1333 shots. Would it be harmful to my gun if I tested by dry firing only? Someone once said to me that I should fire with paintballs only, was wondering if there was any truth to this.

Firing without paint is fine.

Check all the o-rings and see if any are damaged.

I went to the local proshop, and the guy said that it was fine... Is he right? He believes it is just air escaping when I shoot. The o-rings look fine to me.

It's normal for some air to escape when you shoot.

Alright, I hope that this is just air escaping from the wrong place then. Anything else you would like to say before I close it?
