Because paintballs are not as accurate as bullets and tend to stray off course. Also, scopes are used at distances, when in paintball you're rather close to your target.
However, reddots can be useful.

Ok. It helps you, but the normal paintball player will not find much use for a scope.

Yes, maybe for playing in the bush.. But most people here play speedball and games where there is alot more movement.
Red dot sights are better and don't give carpel tunnel.

red dots still do just not as easily. i dont think scopes give bad tunnel vision but they do distract from your surroundings so u have to be carefull of where ur teammates are.
and anyone who plays only speedball shouldnt be allowed to have opinions on scopes.

First of all, what the hell does carpel tunnel have to do with scopes... If anything you'll get it from playing speedball.
Secondly, MOST people do not prefer speedball. There have been studies on it, the majority of players enjoy the outdoors.
As for on this site, speed players and scenario/woods players seem to be in equal numbers.

Why is that? Most people that get seriously into paintball drift to speedball.

Scopes should be only be regarded as cosmetic accessories in paintball.
I'm a deer hunter here in MN and you basically have to use scopes for
deer hunting because most shots are at 75+ yards, low light, deer are
on the run, and only one shot is all you can get off ( most
times).
I have an A-5 with a flatline and unless you can sight your scope to be
consistent to within 1 foot at 150 feet a scope is pointless.
I guess the only point to have a scope would be to survey the field for opposing players at large distances.

Scopes are good because you might see something that you might not have
seen without it (ie. person in a ghille suit).

Lemme fill you guys in, at distances that you can see in the woods, if you can't see someone with your own unaided eyes, you aren't going to see them through a scope.

I disagree. I occasionally play with a scope. Mostly for cosmetic purposes, but I have successfully used it on more than one occasion to identify an opponent. It's not so much what you can see as what you can identify. At 50 feet in the woods, with everybody in camo, it can be very difficult to tell an opponent from a stump. Zooming in helps a lot.

yeah, at my last scenario, i carried a cheap bbgun scope in my pocket, just for that purpose. came in handy too. in a mask, they are a lot easier to use that binoculars.
i never used it on my gun though.

I've worn one once...
Worked great. Granted, I wasn't sitting around being the UBer sniper, I
was playing my usual game style of moving around trying to get up
behind them. WOrked great in a firefight, just lay down when your
taking heat and they lose you. Worked great for crawling about 2-3 feet
away and catching them by suprise when you come up in another place, or
by just crawling away.

Feel free to disagree but clearly we are talking about two different things.
If you were to take my post and read it, clearly I am talking about just scanning through the woods looking through a scope trying to find people. No doubt some magnification could help if you were trying to identify someone you have already spotted.

Guys I play only woods too. And im not sniper i am just able to use it if time comes. I have been able to pick people off from 75 pluss yards because ive perfectly set up my gun for maximum distance and straightness. I still say it. SCOPES ARE USEFULL
