okay, i already have a bone stock 04 vert cocker and a bone stock rainmaker. I also have about 200 dollars to blow.
now, ive always wanted to play pump paintball, but dont particularly want to buy a phantom. and i love taking older guns and making them rip. so what to do first?
here's a final rundown on planned out parts in my pricerange.
Cocker/Sniper: -wwa ultra grade sniper kit with volumizer -ANS single trigger frame -dye stickies -AKA tornado/PPS low turbulance valve -15 rd. feed tube -bigshot
Rainmaker -Mad Marty's mods 1-5 -Mac valve mount -Angel LCD frame -KM2 gale force board -bigshot

I'd go with the Sniper. SCP is the bomb and I'm so glad I play. It's much more challenging imo, and it helps with other types of play. Once you get some more money, you can up the RM and when you play, you'll dominate due to your SCP experience
------------- Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

put a pump kit on the rm.... lol... actually don't, the rm wouldn't make a great pump marker due to it's weight.
i'd go with the sniper... it will make you a better player.... and you'll get the most out of your rm due to stock experiance...

heh. yeah, ive seen the pump kit.
on a lighter, sadder note, i took the rainmaker, along with the cocker, to the field today, and was stuck using the cocker. the rainmaker has a sad, desperate leak, and when it vents, it gives off this noise. it sounds so sad...
anyway, im still trying to see what rainman can do for me. hes to rainmakers as doc nickel is to cockers...
so far, its all walls and barricades to most suggestions.
anyway, im probably gonna order the pump kit for the cocker soon.

If you REALLY do not want a Phantom I would suggest the cocker. With around 200 you could go on ebay or the Phantom Owners Group and get a nice used Phantom. While the rainmaker represents a long time ago, so does playing pump and stock class. Not only will you be able to find parts easier for a cocker, you can go semi or pump with it.
I am considering selling my Phantom and semis and getting a nice cocker and pump kit, as a way to condense my marker collection and make the gear bag a bit lighter. I think the CCM pump kits looks nicer than the WWA ones, but they also cost more.

cocking rods do tend to come loose. you just have to keep an eye on it... nothing worse than playing and have your gun disintigrate...
as for the apology, i accept ... in a sort, i did the same with sneaky... and he's not that hated anymore...

OMG! can you say "stock class?"
ive decided to sniper out my cocker, and im gonna pick up the wwa premium kit, and de-volumizer. that should give me maybe 20 or so shots out of a 12 gram.
but i need more...

i have a crazy idea... but there is a 90% chance it won't work... some phantoms use a gadget that allows you to shoot while actually changing the 12g... i think how they do this is they make it a "one way" valve of some sort... so air goes in, but won't come out... this should keep the pressure built up in the sniper... but the chances of it fitting are slim.... i can't remember what it's called...
edit: also, have you considered a female stabilizer?

check valve. wwa makes some on their phantoms.
you know, that might work. i wonder if the best spot would be the vertical asa. like an asa/check valve. heck, if that works, i might get doc to make me one.

got this on WWA's site.
edit: i dunno. i think any reg will just weaken a 12. but a female would hold air (i think), so it might work like a check valve when im changing 12s. that might be better than the check idea...

| my best ideas come from 3:00am... the reason i'm thinking a stab, is becuase i think it might help the co2 expand... but then again, i've never shot liquid using a 12g... with a paintball marker anyway...
edit: wow... my firewall blocks animations... that's weird...

well, the less room to expand, the more shots ill get, but the greater the velocity spikes. theres no pneumatics in a sniper, so a blowout isnt a concern, just massive velocity spikes. i need a way to work around that. the check it valve is a dang good idea though...

i wouldn't try this... but maybe if you put a handwarmer, or even just an insulator, over the 12g changer to regulate the temperature would eliminate velocity spikes... but i would worry about the 12 gram getting too warm and blowing too much gas into the marker and blowing out an oring... but like i said, i wouldn't try the handwarmer idea...

Not very good stock, but with some mods rainmakers can rule.
Plus you get all the funny "Thats a weird looking shocker" comments.

im actually sending it in to rainman to fix it, cuz i cant seem to do much with it. i might get him to add some "niftyness" while its down there. i think ill spend half my money on the sniper, the other half on the 'maker.
