Yeah well i started having pains on tuesday morning and i had to endure it until wednesday areound 1 a.m. when my parents finally took me to the hopsital to get it checked out. I got a CT scan and then the doc said i have appendicitis, so i had surgery about 3:30 in afternoon later that day to remove my appendix. And now im sitting at home in some pain, and the worst part is the timing its summer and i can't do anything for about 2 weeks. Oh yeah, im only 14 is that strange for someone that young to have appendicitis.
P.S. The morphine was good. |

No its not strange. I had 2 knee surgeries, each giving me 3 months of couch time when I was your age and it was summer time for the first my first surgery so I feel your pain. Have an x-box or something to keep ya entertained? Back then for me my cousins had an Atari (the first one) they were my "rich" cousins. -------------

Me neither... I don't want to either. It doesn't sound fun. My friend had back surgery for her scoleosis around Christmas and still can't do anything physical for another 6 months. |

I had ear surgery once, the stuff they put you under with was awesome. Felt like I was sinking into the table...

i had apendicitas at 12 that wax 3 years ago happened in summer too so i couldnt miss school. did you at least miss an exam? i never got morphine just codine. but it hurts less now than before right? ------------- <just say no to unnecessarily sexualized sigs> |

I scratched my cornea really badly a few weeks ago and they gave me this big bottle of Vicodin. It's pretty cool stuff.

i got my tonsels(sp?) taken out a while ago 4 nurses held me down when i got mad, no idea why either, when i was YOUNG too, and i bit one -------------

i had a tooth pulled once, and they gassed me. they were yankin on it and it actually shattered in my mouth. dentist: oops.

i wonder how many other people hear can say they hurt themselves badly enought to go to the hospital while logged into the forum. i flipped my chair over and coaght the corner down the back of my head. resulted in about 7 stiches. only sugury i ever got was to remove 2 moles on my back since they were afraid they could become cancer. the morphine was pretty cool. until it wore off. |

The only surgery I've had was to get a cyst removed from behind my ear. It took about 1/2 hr. from the time they gave me novocaine, until they got it out. It was wierd, because I could feel the novocaine squirting in underneath my skin. Pretty wicked. The novocaine was the worst part of going to the dentist, though, because if they were working on molars, they had to stick the needle way back in my mouth, and I could feel the needle sticking into my jaw. Then, a few hours later, my cheek would itch, and no matter how much I scratched, it wouldn't go away. And, there was the time I spilled about half a bottle of Coke on myself trying to drink it right after I got back from the dentist (considering that was probably the reason I had to go there in the first place). You can't even taste anything with your tongue numb, anyway. |

Having an appendix out aint that bad, i have parents catering to every need of mine so i dont have have get up often. The pain has gone down a bit since i have been home, the doc gave me a bottle of vicodin for any serious pain i have. (< that stuff is good). And for those of you who have never had morphine u need to get some. Nurse: YOU might feel a bit woozy or strange after i put this in your IV. Me: OK bring it on. 10 seconds later Me: Woah...(disoriented)that was good stuff. Then i slept for about an hour until time to go into the prep. room and into the OR. |

I had to go to the emergency room on new years eve last year because I had been throwing up all day and had lost too much fluids so I had to get an iv. Not a whole lotta fun but I didn't really know what was goin on anyway because everytime I tried to stand I would pass out and hit the floor so the iv was welcome cause I felt better after that. And that's about the closest I've ever come to surgery.

I had boxer's knuckle but they didn't have to do surgery. They just gave me some pain killers, a shot of novacaine and rolled the bone back into place. I get my wisdom teeth taken out next week, but that's not that big of a surgery. ------------- <Removed sig for violation of Clause 4 of the New Sig Rules>

I got surgery (actually 2) on my nasal passages once. One to go in and make them bigger, and the other to clean it up. I had snot and nasal tissue, skin, and blood sitting in my nose for 2 weeks. ------------- well then....as a last resort...SHOOT AT WHATEVER MOVES |
