Hello, having porblems with my 98c which has factory installed Remote Trigger on it. Months ago, it seemed the marker simply came to a grinding hault, thinking I was out of CO2 I remove the CO2 bottle and plenty of air came out, so I definitly wasn't out of air. Putting the bottle back on, it would not shoot. I used my marker for about 4 hours and saw no symptoms, before this happened. Now I'm trying to trouble shoot because I am going paintballing this weekend. So I get a new CO2 bottle filled to confirm there was nothing wrong with my old one. When I screw it in i fired the first shot, which was a releif that the marker still functions. As I'm dry shooting the marker it seems to shoot 3-5 times straight (fully automatic speed), then rest in the un-cocked position. After cocking it again and firing, similiar results continue to happen. The marker is about a year ols and I've taken it apart and put it back together succesfully about ten times, so I don't think it is an issue with it being put back together wrong. While test shooting i have twisted the little screw on the R/T back and forth, when set all the way to one side, the trigger seems impossible to pull, nor do I want to force it, when twisted to the other side it gives me the symptoms that I had already mentions with the 3-5 round burst, then uncocks. Is there a way to disable mt R/T without pulling the marker apart? I would like to trouble shoot the marker with out using it to see if that is the problem or not. Any of these symptoms common, please help. I looked through one of the initial threads in this forum and only found this phrase that I can relate to... "Messing with the sear spring generally will just throw your gun out of whack, cause it to shoot "full auto" or not recock, and generally give you a big fat headache. "... I don't think I've messed with any screws inside of the marker, but my gun shoots fully auto for a second and then uncocks everytime I pull the trigger. take the gun apart, look at everything, make shure o-ring and other parts arn't damage. look at the r/t and make shure lines arnt plug or anything wring. lube up the gun-both receivers,hammer,powertube ext. if that doesn't work, it could be a stripped threading on the powertube or receiver, or a bad oring fitting on the responce ------------- http://imageshack.us">

Thank you tippy for the post. I will clean the marker the best i possibly can and lube it up for another test. I just ran out of air so I can't test it til tomorrow. Valve bolts present and locktited in place?
Remote on/off is another biggie. Screw it in until you hear the classic hiss, and then one more turn, NO MORE! To trouble shoot w/o R/T, I believe you screw the adjuster all the way in. This will disable it. You can also remove the hose. This doesn't sound like the classic symptom of this, but check the ball latch, make sure it is present and facing the right direction. -------------

Check your sear and hammer. They may have become rounded.

^^^^Highly unlikely^^^^ In all my years...even from the first model 98's and f/a's, heck i own a NSG Splatmaster....I have never seen that EVER happen.

The problem lies in the trigger assembly. The r/t shoots fast and sometimes the sear doesn't seat properly and the trigger just moves by it...sort of seems like it wont re cock. So when you pull the bolt back...as if to cock it, you hear the sound of "cocking" or the sear re-seating as a result of the release of the bolt pressure. Take the gun apart, check the spring in the trigger and squish the slide back and forth, and do the same with the sear spring. that should do it. Thankyou very much for all your replies. I'm pulling the marker apart right now, then I will go to the store to fill my CO2 and test her out. I really appreciate the support, I will try to have it all in mind while I have it opened up. I have seen and heard of it happening several times. It is more common on guns equipted with an R/T. Rear bolt will wear and sears will wear as well. Usually one leads to the other, and once it happens the problem becomes exponentially worse. -------------

One thing I've always noticed about the O-Ring (big grey rubber ring inside the butt end of the marker), it seems to magically sit n the butt end of the marker on its own. There never seemed to be a slot where it would sit securely. When I put the marker back together it is lubes up but not solidly in place, after I caulk the gun and shoot it it seems to be duing it's job though.

It just floats around the spring. It is used to absorb the impact of the bolt so the cap doesnt break. It seems to magically stay there because the oil + it getting hit there so often, sticks it there.
