I recently purchased a 98 Custom and Installed and E-bolt (it's gonna be the electro counterpart to my Full Mech R/T Cyclone 98).  The e-bolt is a BSI kit, I know these are older but the price was good.  Is it possible to QEV this setup, and if so can someone walk me through it?  What other mods should I do.  I already have a Palmer's Stabilizer that I plan to use on it.  I plan to add a centerfeed, and I already have a z-boarded and modded Eggy.

The BSI kit includes a two way ram and the cycle rate exceeds 30 bps. What will the QEV add? I am not being critical, I need an education in this mod!

The only purpose would be to reduce the amount of air that would be forced around during the exhaust process, and allow it to escape out the exhaust valve.  I might be mistaken on the function.  I was just thinking it would reduce stress on hoses and noid and allow the air to escape instead of forcing the excess exhaust around.  Please correct me if i'm wrong.  I'm new to the whole electro-pneumatic thing, but i've been trying to get my research done.

As far as I know....the qev's noticible difference is in the reduction of chopped balls b/c it makes the ram return quicker.  The bsi ram has been drilled for 2 way but the front cap had to be changed or modified to seal so 2 way can function.  Your in the same boat as us with the gta's.

     You are totally right dude. The QEV stands for Quick Exhaust Valve. A ram without a QEV has to vent exhaust gas all the way back down the hose feeding it and then back out through the valve. With a QEV the air escapes as close to the ram as possible making the ram react faster to the solenoid. We use them at my work (much bigger ones) all the time on conveyer systems because we need to stop things on the conveyers as soon as we can sometimes.

I know what the QEV does, but the BSI is set up to handle 30+ bps and the stock board will run it that fast. To clarify, the BSI ram that I have had my hands on was factory set up for two way operation...no mods necessary for it to run at 30 bps.
