They made a propane one. How many other choices you need. Or you can get the E-volt, but like hybrid said, it wasnt practical. How you expand on an idea with your own designs instead of just randomly shooting crap out there.

But it was a good try.... honest.

I think it got 500 cycles to a charge, and it took 90 minutes to recharge the battery.

Ok well im not sure how the E-Volt works, info on it is hard to find other than a copy and paste from NPS. I assume it is some sort of gauss or coil gun similar to http://hackedgadgets.com/2006/07/08/rapid-fire-coil-gun/ - this . Instead of using the coil to move the projectile (paintballs are not ferrous) it would move a the bolt that pushes the paintball. Many people are getting a lot of power using this principle and as you can see here high ROF is also available. Batteries in general suck, but they are getting much better. Capacitors may be the answer for lighter and more powerful energy sources. Ive also been reading a little about 'super capacitors' all that's important about those is they are better, and more expesive. This technology is improving and getting cheaper. I see a more feasable gassles marker in the future. Get to work on your own design like that guy did.

That example was to display ROF, if you want to see power go http://hackedgadgets.com/2006/06/15/diy-coil-hand-gun - here .

Its possible that the battery was used to power a compressor but that seems very inefficient. I dont know I would love to take one apart(looking for a donor).

i read that also i think 500 shots is good. they would ve very consistent. 90 mins to recharge battery but it swaps in matter of seconds anyways.

that amount is fine for me, i can see how it's not for others though.

what is the speed of the nails?

and do the nails have to be made out of a special kind of metal? magnetized?

Carl use the damn edit button!

the evolt used a battery to power a small compressor to compres enough air for one shot.
ex, everytime you pulled the trigger it would fire, everytime you realesd the trigger the air compressor would come on and compress more air.

i think you could get like 5-6 bps with it, not so great. pump players can shoot faster.

Canadians do it on top.

After reading that it makes me doubt the ability you use the concept of a gauss or coil gun to shoot painballs. A paintball gets up to 280 fps because of the air expanding behind it while in the barrel. But while typing this I though of a possibility. The 'bolt would have to travel a much longer distance than just that to get the ball into the barrel(like pneumatic markers do). If the bolt pushed and accelerated the ball down the barrel it may be possible to shoot paintballs withought compressed air. Im not sure though. But I see it as a possibility.

i think that would be a blender....  i wouldn't trust that technology...

electrics are stupid they aren't as reliable as co2,compressed air, nitrogen, or propane guns.
