i got some macroline at my local proshop today and i got it hooked up, all hunky dory....... i thought. ive got a pmi 72/3000 tank w/ an 850 psi output and when i put gas in my gun, the hose flexed to the left like it was going to pop, so i got my tank off and everything was fine. im worried the guy gave me a low pressure line and its going to pop next time i put air into it. i found a piece of old line that is very stiff, but it has a thin(er) sidewall. my new line is alot more flexable, but has double the sidewall thickness. do i have a low pressure line? or is that normal for a softer line?

It may be printed on the side of the tube , other then that you'll have to take his word for it. But generally Macro is considered tubing , which is stiffer than hose.

Plastic tube/hose can be rated from as low as  150 psi up to 5000 psi with little visible difference. Try the new stuff but keep the old stuff handy in case the new stuff blows.

Sounds like you may be accidently be using ID hose instead of macro.  The stiffer one is likely macro, it will be stiffer but have a wider opening.  The other one could be 1/8" id hose, which likely isn't rated for the pressure.
