And the gun actually does hurt, not as much as a paintball obviously but it stings when i hope the gun up against me and unload. I'd say hurts just about the same as an airsoft gun. It leaves paintball looking marks you know with the ring and all. I still have 2 marks from getting shot 2 days ago. I was going to put pictures of what it looks like but I couldn't get a good one oh well.
It's fun to play speed ball in the basement with these. We play no shirts and in shorts so we can feel it and so it actually hurts.

the first time i saw one of those was in wal-mart (surprise surprise ) my brother thought the "markerballs" were re-balls, i whapped him upside the head 3 stooges style and told him that those were not re-balls, i have no idea what they are, but they are NOT re-balls! lookeds at the package which said "for use with markerball projectile launcher only" i asked myelf what they were and turned around to see a giant wall of markerball projectile launchers. I was going to try them in my paintball gun but when i tried sizeing them in my barrel they were way to big to fit in. If it did fit I was just going to buy a couple of them and use them like reballs.

I dunno, does it actually hold the balls? My only concern is how these markers are geared to smaller kids to get them into paintball... but its the size of Texas!! I'd be worried about the kids developing oversized arms or even suffer from fatigue after using these things...

I was going to do that for me in my basement because my basement isnt finished yet. So I was going to get like 4 used spyders or something turn velocity down (its no fun getting shot at 280 up close), and play with friends in the basement.

How do you figure? Dye is one of the only companies Smart Parts tried to settle with OUT of court. Smart Parts went after ICD, because they were afraid of suing WDP and Dye. SP, Dye, WDP, and a few other smaller companies now all have a part in the Spool-valve patent. The only thing SP has is the right to power a Spool-valve with a humphrey noid.

Do you een know what the DmC is? They took the leftover Dm4s, milled them down and then wrapped the composite on them. Smart Parts and Dye have never followed through on lawsuits against each other, every time it has ended up being settled out of court. SP is known for picking on the "little guy." That's why people make the jokes about SP being Nazis and taking over the world.

Actually there's a huge difference.

Not necesarily. Unregulated CA is just as efficient as unregulated CO2.
Of cource i know of the physical difference between the two, but if all co2 cylinders had a regulator on them(like CA) then they would be as efficient as CA.
co2 was used in paintball because of its natural regulation in that it turns to a liquid at around 800 psi, therefore you can fit alot of co2 into a cylinder, because it turns into liquid. CA on the other hand does not have this natural regulation so they need a regulator to lower the pressure of the output. Then they use higher pressures so you can have a reserve of air.
If all co2 was regulated on the output, the only real bnefitial difference would be that co2 gets colder quicker than HPA. With an antisyphon tube, this would be eliminated even more.
And trust me, i know my stuff.(to anyone who called me a noob)

I've been playing since CA meant "California Air" (if you didn't already know, it got that name because the idea for putting a CO2 tank on the gun instead of a 12gram originated and was popularized in California). In any case, in my opinion, HPA is much better than CO2 for the following reasons:
1. CO2 pressure is severly affected by temperature. As the weather gets warmer, the pressure gets considerably higher. Look at the pressure / temperature chart http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/FAQ/co2_and_compressed_air_faq.htm - here at palmers pursuit. At 100degress in my area, the tanks would be putting out roughly 1200psi, with only half of a fill. A complete fill hits 1400psi. Therefore, you gotta lower your velocity to compensate. Some guns simply won't be able to get under the limit with the stock internals.
2. In cooler weather, the expansion rate for CO2 (how much liquid will convert to a gas in a given span of time) starts to drop. In other words, the cooler it is, the quicker you will suffer from shootdown, and eventual freezeup. I've seen this happen in 20 rapid fire shots in the winter.
3. You must by all means take steps to reduce the amount of liquid CO2 from getting to the gun. Liquid CO2 expands in the valve/barrel even more so than gas, which causes a major spike in velocity of more than 50fps. This doesn't count those guns that are no longer in production that were designed to use liquid. Contrary to popular misconception, a Palmer Stabilizr doesn't act like
an expansion chamber any more than an equal length of gas line; it's
just built well-enough that you don't have to worry about blowing any
seals or such, should liquid enter the reg.
A regulator on a HPA tank isn't just a necessity, it's a benefit as you get a very good pressure consistancy. Which, I place second to barrel-paint match in importance to accuracy. You can even take it a step further and add another regulator for more than twice the consistancy. You gotta shell out for two regs to get a benefit almost comparable to compressed air.
Any questions?
Edited for readability.
