Did you buy it new in a box? If so it should say right on the box. Or you could do SOME research and actaully try to answer this question on your own?

Yes I bought it brand new. I think it said it does have A.C.T. but I can't remember now. And just in case you ask I don't have the box.

Why dont you just open it?

Or stick something down the elbow while the gun is cocked. Hold the cocking nob and fire the trigger, slowly move the bolt toward the end of the cocking slot toward the valve. if it keeps going, you have act, if it stops, you dont.

Mine has a bunch of different guns on it. It has the 98C, 98C Pro then the same guns in camo or e-trigger. Monk I put my finger in the breach and pulled the trigger, and the bolt didn't move back or anything? It didn't really hurt.

Ok, let me explain this again.

Put a pencil in the breech while the gun is cocked.

Hold the cocking nob, and press the trigger.

Now move the bolt foward(slowly), if it makes it to the valve, then you have ACT, if it stops before the valve, you have a regular 98

Just take the dang thing apart.

Obviously you have no clue how a paintball gun operates, and taking it apart will be a good crash course.

Ok, slide the bolt forward until the nob is to the end of the cocking slot, if it makes it, then you have ACT, if it doesnt, you have a regular 98c,

TC,

Since you seem so incapable in understanding how the ACT works and also apparently lack the ability to figure a way to detect the mechanism, we thought you must be 8.

What Monk is trying to explain to you should be crystal clear, so it is obvious you haven't a clue as to how a Tippmann 98 works...even though there is an animated diagram of the ACT in the "products" section of the very web site where you have posted your question.

Place a pencil, the eraser end, in the ball receiver hole to block the forward movement of the front bolt. Hold the cocking knob on the side of the rear receiver and pull the trigger to release the rear bolt(hammer) and let it slide gently forward until the forward bolt contacts the pencil. Then continue  the forward movement of the hammer by push the cocking knob firmly forward.

If your marker is equipped with ACT, the actuation rod will disengage from the hammer allowing the hammer to continue forward to touch the Power Valve pin, while the front bolt stays firmly resting against the pencil.

Taking the advise to stick your finger into the ball chamber and pull the trigger was a stupid move. The ACT system would protect you from your stupidity by allowing the front bolt to only firmly pinch your finger. If your marker did not contain the ACT mechanism, the inertia of the rear bolt causing the front bolt to slam shut on your finger may actually have injured you...cutting, dislocating your finger tip, or actually breaking the bone.

If you cannot decipher the manual, DOWNLOAD the schematic of your marker (the manual) on this web site (or from Tippmannparts.com) and at least learn the names of the internal parts of your marker so when you ask advise you can understand the answer you receive. Which will prevent you from exposing your naiveté by asking such questions as "what's the valve."
