So, http://www.dcmf.com/ - Dawson City Music Festival was this weekend, and as all yukoners know, it is THE thing to do in the summer. So, my weekend started right after work, I started driving to Dawson City, Yukon.

Beautiful day for a drive:

A sign before one of the communities on the way there. I've always thought it was neat, and finally took a pic of it:

The road had construction though, which made for crappy visability:

But I made up for it in other ways:

For a while (ticket)

BUT, I still got there fine. To give you an idea of what size of a city I was headed into...this is their airport terminal:

One neat thing about dawson, there are NO paved sidewalks. Everything is boardwalks, the entire town.

Another thing I like about dawson, it's a goldrush town, and many parts of the town havent been touched since then:

Yes, its slanty, its not a weird picture. Another:

For you poets out there, Robert W. Service's cabin:

And one more thing. This was taken at 3AM:

Thats about as dark as it gets, so you can roam the unlit streets any time you want basically.

Ok, so, got up in the am and enjoyed some music a la my friend:

After that, walked into town from the campsite, and checked out some music. This is the main tent, which was waiting to be packed with the masses. Beer tent (also to be packed) was on the right.

Since it was too early for the main stage, I headed over to another venue and took in http://www.myspace.com/hylozoists - Hylozoists :

They were amazing...so relaxing... Its the only time I've been nodding off at a performance, but not bored in the least. Their music relaxed you so much, a very nice start to the day. I continued to check out other bands through the day, such as the mindblowingly amazing http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/10301/Profile_Profile_Final_Fantasy - Final Fantasy , a great local band of guys my age http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=12842962 - Death In Venice and many more.

After several bands I wound up at the main stage again for the local band Scotch (no site that I see unfortunatly):

In between groups, they had "nuns" who would come and sing, mock people, tell people to drink responsibly (although they were soon dancing on stage, beer in hand too)

Drunk guy that was arguing with the nuns about nothing for about 10 minutes:

Then, a super high energy french band http://www.lesbatinses.com/en/01_2.html - Les Batinses

Lead singer crowd surfing:

After that, I ditched my camera in my bag and danced my face off for the rest of the night.

Woke up this morning, and this dude my friends know had hit the gravel 70km out of town and flipped their car (he was sober), so I gave him and my two friends he was with a ride home...and here I am.

Awesome weekend, absolutly amazing music and people, and beer.

I bet your parents would have loved having a stranger knocking on the door to visit you when you were 7

As for the hotsprings, I never did stop in, my brother said they are awesome and SCORCHING hot.
