I was playin woodsball and i basicly know everyone there. Normaly no one new comes and plays so its easy to pick out any new players. Before the game I went up to a kid ( looked 11-12 ) and asked how long he had played. He said this was his second game. He also said he had never had a kill. That was fine with me. The game started and i wasnt on his team. I start makeing my way up the field and I hear 10 or 15 shots go off. Then I hear kid I talked to start yellin his head of like he won 70,000,000 Dollars. Of coures he got hit. After the game he goes up to the guy he hit ( my best freind ) and starts talkin trash and it never stops. The kid follows us around for about 5 mins still takin trash until my freind got mad turned around a got um good right on the eye. The moral of the story is trash talkin newbs SUCK!!!!! The make people MAD!!!! If your a newb dont trash talk and after awhile everyone will look at you as they would there fellow balla.

The moral of the story  "Walk softly and carry a Boomstick"

Well I bet next time in the field he'll get lit up like a Jackson Pollock canvas.

Moral of the story , "If you gonna talk Trash , be able to back it up" .

The kid made a lucky hit and got all cocky . I dont agree with your friend pounding him .

A more fitting and humbling approach might have been to literally "School" the Newb during the next game . Find him, hunt him , "Kill" Him repeatedly ,,, for a few games . Y'all woulda taught him humility and maybe made a better player outta him (I seldom learn something from those I beat , rather those that beat me ,, who know more or use their skills better than I do , I still get "Schooled" , but fewer and fewer people can claim that privelege now ) .

Next time you see that kid , maybe you can blame it on the adrenaline , and invite him out to play again . You want to represent the sport in a good light , be sportsmen , play hard , play to win .

Remember maybe you didnt spout off when you made your first elimination , but you wanted to....

I agree with Shadowminion.  Enthusiastic newbs are important to the continued success of the sport. Let them have their victories.

Never resort to physical violence to settle a dispute on the field. Just organize a team wide  light'em up in the next game.

One shot, One kill.... Oh, wait. What fun is that? TEN shots, one kill, and a bunch of welts on your back.

Trash Talking is annoying and should not be tolerated but to resort to violence is a bit much , although had someone stalked me as he did your friend having the gentle well controlled irish temper I have I honsetly can't say I would have not hit him myself .But I would have and have always provided an ample warning prior to unleashing my anger. The better thing to do as mentioned above by most would be to rail the tard on the field as a lesson.

Now last weekend I experienced just the opposite with me being the self admitted newb and being trash talked by an obvious regular and good woodsballer. I got pinned hard in a bunker and they were closing in from all directions and I knew it was just a matter of time before they were on me . My bro was close by in another bunker and I was gonna try to sprint to join him, but making a stop at a smaller bunker on my way. Well i made the first bunker (amongst a hail of paint)and did not get hit amazingly enough but as soon as I tried to make my second sprint I got nailed by this veteran good so I raised my gun and called im out. He proceeded to say  thats right pal your out , your out I nailed you, taunting me  reapeatedly . I started up the ridge to find out who it was for future games but the ref had been watching and knew what was going on and called me to leave another way. Luckily my brother knew who it was  and I can't wait till this weekend . But my point is there is no need to trash talk it just takes away from the game. Ribbing and joking with your buds is a different thing its a blast but what this dude did was uncalled for on or off the field . Same goes with what that tard did to your bud, just takes away from the fun of the experience. For me it did for sure as up to that point I was having a blast only to be angered and distracted by some freak who was sitting up on a ridge with a flatline barrel, knew the field perfectly and nailed me ?? so what .

Moral of the story : Have fun and dont trash talk it really takes away from the game and those who are just picking up the sport.

ps . Ill let you guys know when I  or my brother get this dude the HUNT is on ! It took all the self control I had in me not to walk up to him and *itchslap him  But i didn't do it haa so proud !

hmmmmmmmm  interesting, i think you should have to pass a maturity test to get a pb gun...........or go to a field, but it doesnt matter at my field, if the owner will kick him out with no money back, and if you cheat(ramping/bounce) at a tourney, he takes your gun..........

Dude, there's no point in bumping 1 year-old threads.

I'd do the same the next time you bump old threads. Stop searching into the really old files and posting in them. Only post in things that are in the first page and sometimes the second page in each forum. If you have something regarding an old thread and it seems needed to be brought up, make a new thread.

I am a newb myself and still have yet to go play, but I believe newbs at anything should not trash talk unless they take out over half the other team in one game.

Yeah, that sounds about right.  It's immature, and shows a lack of self-control, let alone an unhealthy temper to resort to blows because an annoying newbie was talking trash. Tell your friend to grow up, then come back to the game.

EDIT: Dammit, I thought I had finally found a thread worth responding to in NP.
