Well, Snakes on a Plane is coming out in a few weeks, August 18th, and I'm wondering to myself... why?

The hype has come and gone, and they started the hype far, far too early. I can't see anybody still being reasonably facinated by the movie. Nobody talks about it anymore.

Is it just me, or would the movie have a better reputation and better publicity if it never came out at all? At this point, with dead publicity, no new advertising ideas, and a dead to hell and back series of jokes and spoofs, why release it at all? The world would just quietly forget it ever happened until ten years from now on a VH1 special "I Love the 00's" when it was brought up.

This is just the calm before the storm. I predict that the actual release of the movie will spawn dozens of new internet fads, and that the movie will attain cult status. this movie's being made for us. It should be worth the wait.

If any of you know what Habbo Raids are, there are plans for IRL habbo raids on Snakes On A Plane theatres.

I was thinking the same thing myself.  SoaP is a great concept (who doesn't like Samual L., snakes, and planes?), but there is no way the movie can live up to the hype.  It is guaranteed to be a disappointment.

Instead of actually making the movie, they should have put the money into making more t-shirts.

Idk. I think everyone's expecting it to so bad, it's going to be great based on how terrible it is. Maybe we're all expecting it to be worse than it really is, if that makes any sense. I guess we'll all just have to wait.

I personally wanted to make a parody called "snakes on a greyhound bus". Just never got around to it.

I was actually talking with my friends about making a parody using a bus, and have the star of the movie by Keanou Reeves. It would take about 4 minutes to make and it would end by them pulling over to the side of the road and getting off of the bus.
