I was just wondering if any of you could possibly help me out. You see I bought a Tippmann A-5 and well i'd like to get a little more range on it. (cause I always play woodsball with my friends and am able to hide extremely well from them.) I went out and bought a Flat line for it but I wasn't pleased with it's performance (I know it's proably the balls I use but am not spending over forty for a box of 2000 rounds) I think my 16 Inche JJ Barrel that I have is actuly much more accurate. Any way I was wondering if ther was anything that I could possibly add to the gun to give me a bit more range and possibly increase the fps, thanks.

You can try the Apex barrel. I just ordered one up and am really anxious to see how it compares to the flatline. But increasing the fps with a new barrel...never heard of that but I could be wrong. You could polish your internals and you fps might go up...mine spiked by 40 fs when I did mine. Or possibly get a rear velocity adjuster.

Apex barrell works better than I thought. There are many ways to upgrade your A5, how much $$ are you able to spend, what type paintball do you play, woods, speed.  Use the Search feature, tons of threads and good ideas, also look at the Gallery and see pics of what you might want to do to yours.

My first suggestion would be for you and your friends to buy a chrono.  I am guessing that half your friends don't even know how to adjust the velocity on their guns.

Chronoing prior to gameplay is essential for safe paintballing.

Once everybody is playing at the same velocity, there are exactly two ways to increase range:  (1) Flatline/Apex, and (2) arc your shots upwards.

Thanks to all of you who posted to this topic for starters. I went down to my local gun dealer to see if he had one but no luck there. I probably should just go out and buy one since it could possibly help out with that flat line some since I read it does pretty good at 260 to 270.

Well, am probably able to spend up to oh 400 dollars or so on the gun. Am just not sure what exactly I should get to get the most out of my A-5. About the only upgrades I have right now is an expansion chamber along with a JCS RVA Combat folding stock that has an adjuster for the pin...but am afraid to really mess with it in fear of messing my gun up.

Look into an Apex and then a firepower upgrade.

Yea i got the apex last week or so and used it this last weekend. With some nice round paint in it I got great range and the accuracy wasn't bad either. Although if you already have a flatline it wouldn't really seem worth it to go out and buy another barrel. I would just find someone experienced with it and have em help you out flatlines are really picky barrels.

See thats the thing there really isn't anyone I know around my area that is a die hard fan or really know alot about the flatline let alone the guns themselves.

By the way I know this is off topic so forgive me but I was wondering if anyone knew of a paintball mask hat really hugs the face? I ask because the mack I have right now won't let me get close enought with the stock I have on it.

That's kind of a problem with all masks and stocks. The best thing you can do is get a cheap L or T stock. they don't get in the way.

As for good masks, I've heard that the Vents are pretty form fitting, and so are higher end V-force.

look for a soft mask, so it will conform when you place the stock against it.

They have a couple flex masks on the market that are designed for just that reason. The bottom part is made of a rubbery material that you can push right against the stock with. I've never used one though so I don't know if they're any good.
