im finally done! my pvc cannon wasn't standing up so i went mettal. heres what i used: 2" steal pipe-cut and threaded, 2" to 1" fittings, 90* elbos, short 1" pipe, 1" ball valve, pvc barrel left over from cannon.
i made a better video of the mortar in the making. I tryed making a stand and a butt plate but it wasn't working. i like it w/o it anyway. When i was putting it together, it was difficult. i had to use allot of teflon tape on the threads, and i had to barrow 2 pipe wrench's to tork the fittings on. i based my cannon on this look. i only had black paint so i painted it black

thanks guys. about the steal bomb thing...when i fill it, it really wont go above 90psi. my compresser will say 125 but my guage on the martar will say 90-95psi. i wont go above 90psi now. im being extremely causious. the apples rip out of that thing. there like bullets that you can see ------------- http://imageshack.us">

yeah it works! today i shot apples, a golf ball, and water. i got the best result when i shot the apples at -90psi. its a heavy unit. its ruged and tuff unlike pvc. i got all my fittings and pipe for 30 bucks

| I really don't know why I watched that since your voice annoys the heck out of me but nothing against you. Although I'm not seeing the difference between your cannon and mortar. All you did was use metal instead of PVC and turned the shooting angle upwards. This changes it to a mortar? Now I could be wrong on this but some simple research on google says that mortars are powered by a propellant, not air pressure. But other than that good job and quit shooting water, I wanna see something go flying and actually watch it. |

generally cannons arent fired at a high arc, mortars are. and both use propellants to fire their rounds, but im pretty sure hes not gonna go and load the thing with gun powder. cannons are used for hitting stuff like walls, mortars are more used to arc rounds over walls and stuff |

im still making my mortar better. -im going to make a us a design so that i can load the barral breech style. -paint and put logos -maybe a sprinkler valve modified to a push button fire

Pffff... 90psi. Run that sucker on CO2, that pipe can handle well over 200psi. My guess if would only fail at 360ish. Also, sprinkler valves suck really hardcore. |

Put a glowstick in a potato and launch it from that stucker at night. Dont bother going over 100 psi since you wont see too much extra umph from the extra pressure

probably 90psi is fine.. people mod the srinkler valves so that they can fire them with a push of a button or a pull of a trigger. it would be kinda sweet to just push a button and it will fire. i found this web site http://www.spudtech.com - www.spudtech.com

| I use my old combustion cannon without the barrel as a "sonic blaster". It really hurts the ears if you shoot it far enough away so the person doesn't get hit by the fire. My friend built an air cannon and we have water gun fights with them now (at 50-60 psi with a minimum of 10 feet). |

For my combustion gun, I figured out the perfect ratio. It was 10" long, 4" diameter combustion chamber. With exactly 1.5 seconds of spray with Right Guard Sport Fresh deodorant, I got the maximum power available. |

i just made my bolt breech barrel. its comming along great. i can load the barrel without having to chuv it down the barrel. i just have to slide it in at the buttom of the barrel. ------------- http://imageshack.us">
