I had a sizable brain fart this morning. I'm normally up at 5am for work each weekday, but lately I've been getting to bed far too late. I was pretty tired last night and worried about waking up this morning.
So... this morning I woke up, looked at the clock and saw that it was half past, so I was running late, and I had to let the dogs out, then feed them, get ready, and hurry to work because my co-worker is off. I'm rushing around to get all of that done, and the animals aren't cooperating, and I can't find a decent shirt... Anyhow, I'm in the car, flying down the highway, and I'm happy. There's almost no traffice. There usually isn't much at that time, but there was much less than usual.
Then I look at my car clock, and I wonder what's wrong with it. I wait until I pass the hospital to confirm the time. Yeah, it was half past when I got up. Half past two in the morning.
Crap I hate that. Back home for a choppy hour and a half of sleep.
On the plus side everything was done when I did get up. I do this from time to time, but it's been more than ten years since I've gotten all the way to the car before catching on, let alone five miles down the road.

lol I would be so mad if I found myself sitting at work at 3am and operating on less than four hours sleep. It would be pointless to drive home and I'd be sitting, waiting, until 6am.
It's like I look at the clock, and I'm so worried about getting up on time that I actually see the wrong time.

If I had been closer to work than home I probably would have. As is I got a bit more sleep in my own bed and still got to work early.
However, our new greyhound decided that he didn't like being in his kennel and started crapping. My wife came home from an overnight shift, desperately wanting sleep, and he was covered in it. He won't stop barking in his kennel either, so you can't sleep while he's in there, and of course, he can't come in the house covered in crap. She's having a tough morning.

I've also done this on weekends. I'll wake up, freak out because it's light out and shouldn't be if I'm on time for work. I'll start getting ready and my wife will tell me to calm the hell down... it's Saturday. Try getting to sleep after that.

I wonder if the dogs sense somethings weird when you do that?

While it was happening I was wondering why they were being so uncooperative, but now I see they didn't have to go to the bathroom again after three hours and didn't understand why they were going out again offschedule. I was also getting mad at them and it wasn't really their fault. Stick is so small she cowers when I get mad and then I feel bad.
They were looking at me like I was on crack.

I've done the same thing a couple of times. Another that sucks is, since my curtains are synthetic brown leather they keep the light out good - with my lights off and curtains shut it will look the same all day long. So, if I happen to go to sleep very early, like 7 ish, for one reason or another, I will wake up at 10 and start freaking out.

Clerks should see a nice resurgence with the new movie out. I hope so. It's one of my all time favorites.

Heh, I have done that in the past, but never got all the way to the car...the longest I ever went realizing I was in the wrong time zone was after stepping out of the shower and realizing I got up a couple hours early.

LOL, here at Ceremonial Guard we have hat we call 'flinshing'- when you're early or outrageously on the ball for anything, someone will tell you "Don't flinch!" It refers to aprade drill when someone performs a drill movement either too early, or after an incorrect command is called. Anyway, flinshing is one of our biggest inside jokes here.
I've had a few instances where something woken me up at odd early hours and I've looked at my clock and seen it's almost the hour, assuming of course that that hour is six AM, and getting to various states of "Ugh, I hate the morning" before realizing it's still two or something.
Going back to sleep after being woken up that early is THE greatest feeling in the world. Got awoken by a thunderstorm last night and had a blissful; five minutes passing back out.

Once, I woke up for school, looked at my clock, and it said 7:00. I was usually out the door by then, so I was in a rush to get ready. I grabbed all my stuff, headed downstairs to walk out the door, and when I got to the living room, my dad was sitting on the couch, watching Wheel of Fortune.
It was 7:00 PM. I forgot that I had taken a nap when I came home from school that day.
