Magnum Storm IIs. I got these babies for $150 Canadian plus tax. they're like an orgasm that you wear on your foot. I went for a 5 KM hike around the local area with my rucksack on yesterday when it was stupid hot outside (~118 with humidity) and my feet didn't feel it a bit.

They're like running shoes in terms of weight and comfort, but completely waterproof, breatheable, thinsulate insulation, slip and oil resistant, and they simply look cool and high speed. MUCH better than the combat boots we get issued.

I s my Magnums.

Do you have to wear the boots you are issued? Or can you buy your own?

I really like them. I dont own a pair, but have tried them on at the local Boot Box. I wouldnt mind getting a pair.

All of my dad's work boots have been Magnums, he just cant get away from them. When my feet were smaller, I wore them all the time..

Obviously you've never been in a situation when boots aid your feet.

It varies. In the regular force almost everyone where's aftermarket boots, either ones that they bought themselves, or ones that the army bought for them due to a real or fake injury/medical condition.

At my unit you can wear any black boots in the field on training, but only issued boots in garrison training. At my temporary duty this summer with ceremonial guard we can wear any black boots. A lot of our senior staff are regular force and wear whatever they want, though, so that could be the reason.

The issued boots aren't terrible, but they aren't great. These ones feel like they were made for my foot.

i have a pair of stelths... they started falling apart after a few weeks... then i got a pair of bates from the navy base... great fetures but after a year the seams are busting and the soles are almost off...

ive had 2 pairs of hurman survivers that lasted me from age 12 to age 19 but my gf tossed the 2nd pair out because the inner sole fell apart and the toes were all nicked up i couldent find a pair i liked when i was looking for boots last time.

Never tried them, but they look very nice.

I know my dads a carpenter (And Ex-army) And I use an acient pair of work boots that he wore to the ground. There is abseloutely no tread what so ever, No oil resistance no nothing. They're not waterproof either (Well, maybe they were). But theyre so worn in they're very comfy and I can run extremely fast in them. I use them for paintball.

Figured I'd share my botos since you did. Irish Setter Red Wings. $100 bucks on sale. These are old boots though but they still serve their purpose. 100% waterproof and insulated with gore-tex so they are incredibly un-comfortable in the summer, but they are awesome winter boots.
