Ok I have been reading quite a bit (dangerous) and just want to confirm with some of you knowledgeable people here a few things. I'll list my marker and the upgrades I have and those that are coming next week.

Marker is a 98 custom pro with cyclone feeder, 14' J&J ceramic and the typical parts that come with the custom pro drop ect. Currently or up to now I have been using Co2 but am switching to HPA. I play woods ball only.

Coming in the mail next week I have 68 ci 4500-psi HPA tank and cover, R/T trigger with adapter kit for cyclone feeder, QVE, mod parts.

Questions:

Should I definitely get a palmer Regulator even though I am switching to HPA? Which regulator specifically would you suggest with my current and future upgraded marker ? There also is a gage option is this critical to have , am suprised that its an option and not included .

Without the QEV mod and just having the cyclone and the R/T setup what ROF is achievable? I certainly don’t need full auto speed and am not looking to get nuts with it. Maybe that rate would be sufficient without the QEV mod or is it worth it  to add regardless?

Thanks in advance

Wrath

Palmer makes some of the best regs out there. They won't fail you. And if
you ever wanted to use co2 again, you can.

The cyclone is able to feed about 15-17 bps without a QEV. With a QEV, you
are able to go into the low 20's. It's not a big upgrade and you won't regret
doing it.

One last question on the palmer I want to make sure I am purchasing the right one , would this be the correct one to use with my marker 98 custom pro http://www.hotshotpaintball.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PAL-REGULATOR-MALE&Category_Code= - http://www.hotshotpaintball.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Scree n=PROD&Product_Code=PAL-REGULATOR-MALE&Category_Code = =

Want to set it up vertical , no remote.

Thank you very much for your response

Ok received the reg but I must need some kind of adapter as the screw in top of the reg is much larger than the braided line. Anyone know what exactly I need or have one installed ? I am assuming that it gets installed where the braided line is coming from the power tube

Thanks

It fits into the power valve only if you bought a Palmer Direct. This is a Direct mounted:

This is a later configuration using the Palmer Direct. The blue object is the LP Kit Volumzer. The Palmer direct is connected with a single fitting to the ASA. The regulated gas pressure goes to the Volumizer which has been drilled and tapped in its side to accept the hose fitting.

If the end is large, like the end of the tank fitting, you have bought the Male Stabilizer which needs the vertical adapter which mounts the Stabilizer in place of the removable front grip.

There are adapters that accept the mail fitting and reduce it to 1/4 NPT which is the fitting that will screw directly into the power valve. Contact Palmer Pursuit, on line or phone them.

I spoke to Craig at Palmer and he told me that they do make an adapter but he felt that it could be somewhat fragile , if I were to fall and hit it  that it might break off. Also tippmann would void their warranty if I were to set it up that way. What I am doing is getting a vertical adapter and mounting the male palmer where the front grip goes. Should work fine .

thanks again for your assistance
