Well I can't remember the last time I posted in this section of the forum..
Anyway, here it is:

I haven't played paintball in about 2 years, but I want to get back into it. To save money and to provide more of a challenge, I want to continue where I left off by playing pump/stock class paintball more.

I have an ACI Maverick, which isn't terrible, but it seems to leak if the valve o-rings are not lubricated. It's a decent gun, but the grip and pump are made of hard plastic, and it would be nice to have something a bit more solid. Also, it seems that the Maverick isn't in production anymore, not that it really matters though.

So based on the above, I've been starting to think about getting a standard CCI Phantom (around $200). I've always kind of wanted a Phantom based on the reviews I've heard about it. Right now, I'm basically broke, as I am a college student, that just finished up taking a few summer classes. I'm hellbent on playing paintball again, and should be able to scrape some cash together soon.

What do you guys think? Should I stick with the Maverick in case paintball gets pushed to the side for awhile again or should I get the Phantom and spend the rest of the summer really getting back into paintball with it?

Go Phantom!! And as soon as my tv show ends I will log back on and tell you why.. for starters Phantoms have great resale and if you need the money you should be able to sell it and get a lot back for it.

I'd go for the Phantom. You may want to look into a SL-68 II if you dont want to spend the money on a Phantom yet, seeing as how you can get one for around $60. Mine sat around for quite awhile and all I had to do was put a drop of oil in the ASA and gas her up. Shot perfectly.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

Alright, I'm definately getting the Phantom sometime soon. I have about $120 set aside for it right now. I'll have more cash in the future from doing some work at a machine shop.

Does anybody reccommend buying it straight from http://www.phantomonline.com - CCI , or going through a dealer?
