yes i agree teles are good. and well... i dont really care what anyone says, it sounds good, and it has really good pickups that you would see on a 2 to 3 thousand dollar gibson or fender, and yamaha basses get good ratings and its very loud compared to alot of other basses. the guy that used to teach me even said that its almost too loud for the amp that i would use and it almost sounded like the amp was ready to explode. plus i havent seen any basses with more than about 2 or 3 adjustment knob thingys, this thing has like 5 and people think its different. and it looks alot better in person. so stop hating me so much.
and for the double post, sorry i was gonna apologize for that.

It's not all about the amount of tone controls you have on your
bass. There's a lot more than that. There's also the
quality/construction of the neck, which provides reliable low action,
the quality of the wood which may/may not produce a more warm sound,
and a lot more...
But I'm not saying anything about the quality of your bass, just saying...

Not a fan of the Yamaha basses. My friend had one, and I just didn't like how they feel. But if you like it, more power to you.

ok thanks guys... and it is good quality, it had a 1200$ price tag on it but it sat in the shop for a long time and no one wanted to buy it even though its a good quality bass, so i got it for 600$. and i like it because its the only bass ive ever played, and im used to it.

Yea, I recently got into Bass and I kinda went cheap which was the
worst thing I could of done... I got a Rogue from musicianfriends.com
and the thing sounds fairly.... bad, like cheap material... But yea,
Yahmaha would probably be one of the best basses to start out on, I
mean as long as you can enjoy its sound... But yea, my next Bass
I'm getting is Deffinetly a Worlock, their a little Heavy but they
sound incredible..

You could use a better bass but it gets the job done right? I got a Squire P-bass special from Fender off my brother for $100 in very good condition. He moved up to a 5 string fender but we both share a Hartke kickback 15. That thing will put out some serious sound. For example a friend and I are playing in our high school gym practicing for our concert later that evening. Just for kicks and giggles I crank the thing way up and gave her heck. The lights started flickering.

Panda, if you buy BC Rich, dont buy Warlock, get yourself a Mockingbird. They play better.
Also, what kind of wood is that bass made from? Bolt on neck? Fretboard wood? Active electronics?

I currently own a Yamaha bass. It's a BB200. I don't really like it or bass in general. I'm a piano man.

I've been looking to get into bass for a while now. I tried my hand at guitar and did pretty well, so I figure that bass shoule be my next musical endeavor.

learn to count in your head... ALOT.
Also, if you already have a set how much was it? If you don't have one, DO NOT go cheap on it.. Be ready to spend $700-1200 for a Decent Set-up.

rickenbacker basses > everything else.
Stingrays are pretty awesome too. I play bass every once in a while. I just have a simple Fender Jazz bass. I'm a guitar player, not really a bass player. Here are my axes:
Left to right: Jackson SL3 Soloist, Schecter C1 plus silver top, Jackson PS7 Performer, Schecter Omen 7 string.

I just traded my bass (an Ibanez starter) and amp and some other stuff for E-Mag lowers.
Anyone wanna help a brother out? I could use some charity!
