So, I've been trying to find a new motherboard. I've been doing my research, like and good little geek, and found that I need one with a 775 prong processor socket, 240pin ram slots, and btx form factor to fit in my dimension e310's case. I found this one on newegg and it seems to match my needs. My question is, do I need to consider any other factors, like power supply and whatnot. I was also wondering if there is any way to make sure it'll fit in my case, without actually measuring my current mobo and comparing it to the specs on the newegg page. I know it's the right form factor but I wondered about the measurments. I'll get this thing goin yet, I tells ya.....Thanks folks.

You might as well just buy a new case. For what one costs, it's worth the money to not have to worry about fitting, cooling, etc.

Dell cases have terrible cooling. Buy a new case. Get some more fans in that piece.

Well, to get a new case that is any better than the one I have, I'll have to spend another 150 or so plus another mobo, and I'm barely pullin off this mobo....That said, anybody know rather or not I've found out enough to know if this one will work or not, or if there is anything else I need to think about?

Crap, I just realized that I didn't link the board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813121021 - Here it is.

I have wedged standard ATX form factor mainboards into all sorts of goofy old name brand cases. Some may remember the Pentium 2 era cases from Gateway that were only like half sized. If you are comfortable working a Dremel tool, you'd be better off to buy a good standard form factor board and work the case til it fits.

Well, the mobo is BTX and, since ATX cases use rear cooling, it has to go into a btx case....I'ma just get it and try it out, they have a 30 day return policy if it no worky....
