Ok so I baught my Xbox 360 last February. The 5 month warranty ran out less then two months ago. Today I go to fire it up and play some Dead Rising to a black screen and my system blinking three red 1/4 circles. So I call 1800-4-MYXBOX and they give me three things to try. I try all three and still doesnt work. Then I talk to a rep and apparently I've taken the best of care of my 360 and done everything properly. According to him, theres no real reason it should have broke...it just happened. So now I'm spending $140 to get the darn thing fixed. Oh and the best part is, it could be any one of the components inside...they really don't know what it could be. My problem is, this is manufacturer error, so why am I paying for it? My PS2 broke over a year after I got it and I sent it to sony and they fixed it AND CLEANED it for free AND paid for shipping. Microsoft needs to start standing behind there products, esspecially if there going to launch a half-***** system.... -------------

I fried the HD in my Xbox. It would boot up and make this clicking noise (sounded like the arm in the HD flicking across the platter) and the light around the power button would flash red. It was weird because I was playing Halo 2 on a LAN when it first started making the noise, and the Rocket launcher disappeared from my shoulder and textures started to disappear. Then it froze, and a green and black screen came up saying my Xbox was screwed up and needed to be serviced. I called, and the fee was about what a Refurb Xbox would cost. So, I bought a refurb one. That's my experience with their CS. |

its not that, its the fact that its obviously a problem with alot of 360's and a obvioius and severe manufacturar defect which should be fixed no matter what. -------------

| Thats what happens when they try to push a product out as fast as possible to get the "edge" on the competition even though many of the other companies decided to wait and create new things and fix defects. The PS3 is getting looked at because they are finding problems with the blue ray. Thats why the people that wait a year or so for the company to fix defects, ae the smart ones. Those people might even save some money if the price drops. |

im hoping motor storms tracks are really boring and linear, and that the crashes are as detailed as they are in the rendered video. on a side note: 500-600 is a little much to ask for a game system... -------------

haha wow....im having flash backs to middle schoolers having the argument "my shoes cost more then your whole outfit". you know, you pay that much for a graphics card, but how many games are actually out for the pc that are good and can even take advantage of all that cards potential? not many -------------

I coulnd't link it. But its like I read in a Game Informer poll and interview with software developers. Most of them think that the complexity and limits(dunno what they mean by limits) of PC gaming is being phased out by catchy, appealing, mass advertised little gaming machines. If I get around to it I'll look for the article tomarrow. -------------

Well. Thats the first problem Ive heard about the 360 other than easy overheating.
Good Thing I plan on buying mine after PS3 comes out so it wont be as expensive. I'm also buying a PS3 to sell on Ebay and make money. My Xbox just broke after having it since it came out originally. It just stopped reading all disks. Not that I care. It was dropped and played a lot by a lot of people. It lasted what five years? Good enough for me. |

I got my 360 is november. I had the wierd blinkie red light thing twice. Once wasnt the 360s fault (power surge) and the other I turned it on and the 4th person controller light thing was blinking red and the screen said call xbox. I reset it and it was fine -------------

I love my original xbox. There are so many things you can do to it. I've done quite a few case mods to it. I'm waiting until Christmas to buy the 360. Better games will be out and I heard there will be a price drop. The PS3 just looks way too overpriced for me and I really never have liked Sony. |

OH yes i cannot wait for the Wii. Not only will it be inexpensive, but finally someone has done something new and it doesnt need great graphics to be awsome. Oh and its cheap EDIT: There will be no price drop for the 360 at christmas time unless PS3 starts to dominate immediatly, which just wont happen because no one can afford the freakin thing. -------------

The Wii will be takeing over the market. X360 was a miserable failure for microsoft, which still to this day has'nt yieled any income to the company. They lose money with that thing, that's why you dont have customer support. The PS3, is just rediculous. End of story. And PC's will never be phased out, PC's up until this point have always been the innovaters and will continue to do so. The Wii may be the only exception, as nintendo is blowing the gaskets off of everything. The Wii will just be priceless fun, will cost under 250$, and be able to fit in a cargo pocket. Nintendo is going to kill their competitors. |

Microsoft lost money on every original xbox made too. They just have the bankroll to support it. Sony on the other hand has gone way down and by the sounds of it, the PS3 will either kill sony, or save it completely. I know I've mentioned it before, but pick up this months copy of wired (pink cover with Beck on it) and read the article on the PS3. I still love nintendo though. My roommate and I just picked up a gamecube for $70 CDN, so thats $31 USD each. The cube is tiny for a console, and yeah, the graphics may not be "ZOMG AMAZING" but they're pretty damn good still, and its so much fun its rediculous. One of the games we bought is Super Mario Strikers (the soccer game) and it is so simple, so straight forward, no story, average graphics...and its probably my favorite game right now. And the games we bought will work on the Wii, so no loss their either. Nintendo isnt out to compete with sony or microsoft in terms of "wow, blu-ray!" "yeah, well, x-treeeem Hi-Def!!!" etc...they're focusing on fun, and it's easier to afford at the same time. Wii will dominate. Cheap and fun. The only thing that could effect it would be Sony drasticly dropping the price of the PS3. Besides the Wii, not to mention the Gamecube, had better games than Sony and Microsoft had to offer. God help us if the flagship game for the PS3 is a WWII FPS... -------------

It's not suppose to yield income in the short run. Microsoft loses money on every Xbox sold as Sony will with every Ps3. They get money from the games. If it was a miserable failure, why would they continue to back it when they could walk away right now with minimal loss? |

Actualy... Nintendo has varly rarly produced console that has actualy lost them money in production. The Wii will be no exception. As well, Nintendo is the only active player from the original days of consoles. I wonder why.... |

| PS2's aren't that hard to fix though. Most of the time all it takes is a good cleaning, especially the lense. Once in a while the lense angle is off and occasionally the psu fails. |

My NES stopped working maybe eight years ago. had to throw it out. broke my heart doing that. i miss contra and excite bike and mario and duck hunt for it. anyelse have the problem where you couldnt save an excite bike course you made? |
