i have a rc and i want to know if you get the low pressure kit do you have to use the rear cocking thing that the kit comes with cause i like mine way more will it still work just as good?

if i remember correctly i don't think you can. the bolt that comes with the low pressure is lighter than your current bolt and (its been awhile) but i don't think you can switch it out. You may be able to put a lighter spring in that way it doesn't hit as hard. ------------- www.putfile.com/sockfootball21 |

I have a LPK on my Custom PRO with ACT, the LPK doesn't work with the ACT so I put the lightest spring in with the stock bolt and the rest of the LPK. I am running at 350psi and have no issues with the stock bolt and lightest spring. I find it is quieter and more accurate and less kick. VInce |

it allows the gun to operate at a lower pressure, optimizing efficiency. it also takes alot of the kick away from the gun. it might not seem like much, but firing my 98 custom, and then firing a friend's shocker, it's completely different. ------------- 98 Custom milled;painted;J&J Ceramic;X-Chamber;R/T;Cyclone. |

well, let's say that a 98 custom is operating on CO2. a good operating pressure for a 98 is around ~800 PSI or so. the LPK keeps the operating pressure down to 300-400 PSI. if the temperature is constant, and the pressure decreases, then the volume must also decrease, correct? so the volume needed to operate the gun goes down, correct? ****keep in mind, this is how i believe the LPK to work. if i'm wrong, by all means explain. i'm just making sure i didn't misinterpret what the LPK does.... ------------- 98 Custom milled;painted;J&J Ceramic;X-Chamber;R/T;Cyclone. |

Low pressure and low volume cannot really co-exist, at least on a Tippmann. From what I understand, volume stays the same but pressure decreases. Kick and noise go down, as they do on pretty much any gun when input is lowered, but the efficiency stays the same because the volume has not changed. That's how I see it. |

(there are tons of variables to consider, but i guess we'll ignore other factors) imagine a coke bottle, with the cap tightly screwed on sitting on a table. this is a fixed volume. if you stuck the bottle in the freezer, the molecules would slow down, and the pressure would decrease, but at the same time, there is a temperature change. that's how i see it anyhow.... ------------- 98 Custom milled;painted;J&J Ceramic;X-Chamber;R/T;Cyclone. |

With less pressure of a LPK U need more volume to get your 300 fps. If the volume were the same (with lower pressure) then U would get over double the balls for the same HPA tank, instead U actually get about 100 or so more shots per tank. This is what I thought but I was set straight, that is why there is an expansion chamber on the LPK (the middle chamber where you air goes in a stock tippman. I see a quieter shot and less kick, and I seems or accurate. It is worth my $!! Vince |
