well I finally bothered finish up alot of my work on the beat up 98 I bought when I came back from camp. had to wait a while there for some of my parts, after that was having problems with the camera, well anyways, here they are for you now.

thats of the whole gun. here are a couple pictures of specific things for it

sorry about the huge pictures.

The first pic is of milling of the lettering and volocity lip, as well as filling of the lower sight rail.

second pic is of the filling of all the lettering on the right side, as well as the random circle that you nock out if you install an R-T

Third is pic of my custom made gas-line/grip/dropforward. this I made out of the A-5 gas line/asa, then put it on a homemade drop and customized the front grip so it could fit on the gasline. the one problem is the asa will wobble a bit, so I just need to make some special bits that will make it so it wont.

The fourth picture is of my homemade double trigger and trigger stop, which I made out of the old trigger + the frame. I basicly just chopped the whole guard off the two points that hold it in the marker. then attached part of the cut off guard to the bottom of the regular trigger. from there I took the part left behind the trigger and started to shape it and file it down to make a trigger stop.

the final picture is of my rear sight. personally I HATE how must milled rear sights have that little dip where it goes down between the sight rail and the rear sight.  so I decided to try and just cut it straight back and then fill in the hole in the middle. so I like it like this. I just cant stand that dip.......

Oh, and with my order I got a J&J w/ A-5 threads, which I can use on either my 98 or A-5 thanks to my barrel adapter. normally I will keep the J&J on my A-5 though, which is fine with me since the stock A-5 barrel is still a great improvment from the 98 barrel I got with my gun, that barrel was in REALLY bad shape.

so I guess now that you are all totally bored of my long rants and huge pictures here at the stats.

98 Custom.
-98 to a-5 thread adapter.
-J&J or stock A-5 barrel
-Home made Drop Forward
-Home made Double Trigger/Trigger Stop
-Polished Internals
-Lots of Milling including
 >"Tippmann 98 custom" & "Push Safe"
 >Velocity Lip
 > Rear Sight
 > Lower sight rail
-Lots of gap filling
 >Gap in Lower Sight Rail
 >Gap in Rear Sight
 >Pat #, Warning Paragraph, & seriel #
 >Random circle you punch out for R/T

Again I appologize for the mammoth post. Pretty soon I will start painting the gun, although I am STILL undecided on the color to paint it.

I also have been messing with the internals, the rear bolt and sear were pretty worn down from several years of service as rental, so I have been tweaking them trying to get them to perform better, I know this is kinda dangerious and can mess them up even more, but it seems to be working for now, and if it fails I would need to buy a new sear and rear bolt anyways.

You have to have a trigger guard to play at most fields, but it is a huge improvement over what you had.

anyways, i like the gas through grip too, get it painted, and use the jnj, not the a-5 barrel

I like it overall, but it looks like that dbl trig would break were its pieced together. Do a quick strip mod and top cocking, that would make it absolutly over the top.

yeah, I was worried about the trigger breaking at first also, but after testing it a whole lot it seems like it will hold up indefinantly.

as far as the trigger guard, where I play, I dont really need a trigger guard. if I ever end up going somewhere that requires one I can just buy one for rather cheap. but for now im not worried about it

TehGangster, the drop is home made, I made it out of one of the tips of a small old Composite bow I had. I just took out all the cables and pullies and junk on the end and chopped the end off, cut it down so its thinner under the grip, attached the ASA and then made a couple holes for the bolts to go through.

That will still show if you paint it, I did the same, and then had to re-do it.

I guess I didnt really say it very clearly, thats my falt.
I will use the J&J I have on my A-5 on my 98 when its the only one in use. the thing is if I end up using one gun and loaning out another I will probably put the J&J on the A-5 instead of the 98. if one of my guns is going to be in use, than the J&J will go on whatever gun that is. so if I use only the 98 and the A-5 isnt being used, the J&J will go on the 98

sorry if anyways was confused about that.

yeah, a lot of paintball fields they require you to have a trigger guard. they are yet another safety mechanism to make sure you dont accidentally pull the trigger. so a lot of fields require it because you know how insurance companies are. safety safety safety.
