hello every one....i was recently playing a game, and noticed my gun wasnt firing a good distance......this is my gun set up on the day......

260fps

14" J&J ceramic

DOP pro seal + bolt

1.5L pure energy air tank

the shot was the same each time so accuracy was still consistant......but the ball was starting to dip extremely early...within 30ft.......not sure if i need higher FPS or if it is paint to barrel mix etc?!?   some one please advice as i have big game this weekend!! thank you!!

With some exceptions noted below, the ONLY thing that will affect your distance is the velocity of the paintball.  260 fps is not particularly high velocity, and I would expect to see dipping at 30 feet.  Paintballs lose velocity very fast - these are not firearms.

If you feel like other players are shooting further than you, check their velocity - they are probably shooting hotter.

The other main issue that can affect distance is dirt/crud/stuff.  If the breach or barrel is dirty, then the paintball will come out of the gun dirty and will do many strange things.

The same is true of old/bad paintballs as well.

But if your shots generally land in the same place, but just don't go as far as you would like, then it is almost certainly just a matter of velocity.  Turn it up to 280 and see if that doesn't fix your problem.

trajectory slope is inversely proportional to the amount of money you spent on your gun.

didnt get the second post lol but......my guns is about £600 worth of kit lol...if that helps at all.........to the first reply thanks a lot!  lol gonna try turning it up a bit.....as gun works smoother than a babies bottom and barrel etc clean as fook....only concer is when i have turned it up before at HROF (above 15) the cyclone didnt feed propperly and had few brake....assuming this is due to not enought air goin into it as more goin out the front.....think i just need to find that balance!

I found one thing strange as well, if I put the velocity screw ALL the way in on my a-5, the paintball goes maybe 30 feet, back it out, and bam I'm getting insane distances

Hey, Shadow? Excuse me for not understanding why it did that, I took my gun apart to see why and now understand but there's no point to be so rude about it.

Sorry man... I feel for you and all, but Shadow's post was hilarious.  Just take it with good humor.

Nah, I just personally dislike him... in all the threads I've seen him in he tries to be all high and mighty which gets old after awhile. If he actually joked and helped, that would be different.

you do know that the velocity screw works by disrupting the airflow from the powertube, right?
screw all the way in = low velocity
screw all the way out= super high velocity
