i wish someone wold create a paintball gun that shoots at a max of 400 fps and runs purely on air , like the tank can get filled by a air hoe that you can find in like a car shop , or your cars air compresser for you tires . i think it wold be alot more fun if it was perfected . it woldent have any truble in temps and stuff .i mean why coldent someone do that , the air wold be basicly free , just need a car or battarys
( sorry for the spelling )

400 fps.

I don't have to read anything after that. It is retarded once you mention velocity over 300.

Also, shop compressors output low volume, low pressure. You need high pressure or high volume to get a lot of velocity. 2x retarded

He was just saying the maximum velocity should be able to reach 400 fps, he wasn't saying he was gonna play with it up that high.

it wold be like a normal gun . the max you can turn it on is like 500 fps . i mean so it is the smae as anyother gun .
but of corse you wold play at 280 to 300 fps.
but it wold also be cheaper to use cuz you woldent have to pay for all the co2

Well they do have guns that work straight from the air. It is called HPA. The only difference is that HPA filteres the moisture so it doesn't get in your gun. All high end guns use HPA. Compressors that will fill 3000, 4500. 5000 psi tanks are going to cost you in the thousands of $$ range. I think you will personally save money buy just paying for co2 or HPA refills.

don't connect anything to shop compressor, unless if you want a whole host of problems, ESPECIALLY hpa tanks.

moisture + carbon fiber tanks = eventual death

It sound nice. But some one can still get killed with the hpa tank if they use a shop compressor. I would go to a paintball shop to get the tank filled.

Is there an Echo in here?

I think this just guy isn't fimiliar with HPA. No need to Razz him too much. *Good idea though.. Maybe somebody should try to run a Paintball Gun on Air*

*Note the sarcasm, please.

....what? LPK and HPA are different.. Yes, HPA is at times called "Nitro\Nitrogen"....not the correct term though, it's called "Compressed Air" LPK is "Low Pressure Air" and HPA is "High Pressure Air"....simple. Think of the oxygen that they use in hospitals.. it's basically the same thing.

Holy Crap. This thread needs to be locked before some new player comes in here and gets really confused.

HPA (high pressure air) is pretty much the same thing as Nitrogen seeings as air is mostly nitrogen. LPK is (low pressure kit) this is used in conjunction with HPA to make the gun work on a lower pressure. Lets say your gun usually runs at 800psi, after you install the kit, it will run around 300-400psi.

This guys is saying that a gun should run off of a shop compressor. Shop compressors do not push out enough pressure to be any use. However if you look up the paintball gun called the Evolt, you will find that it uses a large solenoid to compress air then force it down the barre, pushing the ball. This gun never took off because the batterylife was so-so and it cost an arm and a leg.

My goodness people.

How many Square inches does a shop compressor push per second?

how much PSI does it take to push the ball down the barrel to get 300+ fps? NOT how much PSI does the gun run at.

1. Depends on the pressure it's outputting and the power of the compressor.

2. Same thing? Or very similar.

no really... how many psi does it take to push the ball down the barrel at 300+ fps? I know I can blow the ball down the barrel with my lungs but its not going 300 fps.

which gun can run the lowest psi? and at what psi?

No really... Where do you think that 800 psi you're putting into the gun is going?

Some guns can shoot a paintball at 300fps at 200-300 psi, maybe lower. It just depends on what gun you have.
