So Apparently people are freaking out because Halo 3 may have different controls? How is that worthy of freaking out? The Controller is different than the pervious Xbox..

I say get a life if you are that concerned with the controls.
When I logged on to AIM it showed the Halo 3 thingy.

Some aspects sucked. Gameplay in Halo was awesome. in Halo 2 it was good but some of the weapons made it worse. Some made it better. Tank was easier to use. Downside, assault rifle sucked at close range. Pistol was completely downgraded. So was sniper rifle. Rocket launcher was made better. I just hope they take the pluses in Halo 2 along with the pluses in the first Halo and incorporate them in Halo 3. Either way I wont have a 360 for a long time.

PC Gaming is at a hault Razgriz...do you not notice that there are barely any games coming out when 360 and ps3 and wii have TONS of games being devloped and very FEW are being ported to PC? Every good PC game coming out will be on a next-gen console...I used to love pc gaming, I even spent loads of money strapping in the best gpu I could find along with X2 Processors, but in the end, you feel like a fool. Consoles are dominating... it's right there infront of you, WELCOME IT! However, then there once again is the PS3.. which sony says is now "upgradeable" and it was supposed to be the only 1080P Resolution Console... BAM then Microsoft says 360 can do that Sony is like "Nah uh!" then "Damn..." anyway, all I'm saying is, PC GAMING is slowing down, If you have been into a game store..did you not notice there are almost NO NEW PC games? And look on the Upcoming Lists.... the next-gen's got every STYLE of game coming out.. you pc gamers as of right now, and for awhile, have F.E.A.R. (Which 360 owners will have soon) Half Life 2 (Xbox already has and they are making a full xbox live 360 version w\ PC Graphics), Doom 3 (Xbox already has) ... I'm not going to continue, I'm simply going to say, you're going to have to buy a console eventually because there will be games that you will be drooling over that are only on specific consoles.. I already have the 360, I will be buying the Wii when Super Smash Bros BRAWL comes out, and the PS3 when Killzone II and Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out.. And on the subject, did you not expect a change in controls? Master Chief has new moves, so it's completly expected, if you want Halo Classic they will most assurely have that control scheme in the settings.

I know .47 I was being "ironical" I'm actually really struggling to pick a console, what with wii having super smash bros brawl and Zelda Twilight princess. And of course 360 with halo 3 and the ps3 being well ps3, I'm sure a new Ace Combat will come out and I can't not own an Ace Combat game.

360 I love, PS3 I am going to stay away from for atleast a year after it's release.. so many things have been going wrong with it that's why it keeps getting held back, I have had BAD experiance with sonys "first-release" products. Wii looks awesome I will def be buying it... I would go with 360 as of right now, you have exclusive games like.. Gears Of War, Dead Rising, Halo 3, etc, Gears Of War I beleive will actually put Halo 3 to shame at this rate.. that game looks absolutely STUNNING.

| Wtf are you talking about? PC gaming is far from at a halt. IMO, people are getting sick of having to buy a new console that costs more than half a grand every few years. I can upgrade my PC way more easily, I can play many of the same games on my PC and my PC is way more versatile.
PC gaming is just cooler anyway. I'll take a shot in the dark, but I bet more people play CS on a PC than Halo or Halo2, one of the best selling games ever in recent history.

......WOW! That is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have EVER HEARD! Congradulations! People are tired of having to UPGRADE their COMPUTERS to play GAMES on the PC. Have you ever actually researched the prices? When fear came out and Doom 3 the only graphic card that could run them max was the 6800 priced at 400$ at the time....You can get a FULL 360 for that price and NEVER have to upgrade and still get INCREDIBLE graphics, why are you bringing CS up anyway? As I said, you aren't getting any NEW games for awhile. Upgrading the PC is easy, sure, but it's MORE expensive that's common sense. And no people are NOT getting sick of having to buy a console every FOUR years when they have to upgrade thier computers EVERY YEAR to keep up with current games.. wow man I'm sorry but that was the stupidest thing I have ever heard someone say...even VALVE has contracts with Microsoft now! On account of UT 2007, yeah, it looks great, but from what I've been hearing, Epic is STRONGLY considering bringing it to the 360 and PS3 to max out online play.

| I've haven't really had to upgrade my compy at all since I built it... I run HL2 and Oblivion fine. My PC isn't exactly an uber sweet gaming rig either. Only a $200 video card and a 2.8 GHz P4. My computer wasn't originally a gaming rig, I made it into one. I use it for music, graphics, word processing, and gaming. Now if I get some gaming console, all I'm going to use it for is gaming. So, I basically spent $500 +/- on something that just plays video games, yet I can spend about 1000 +/- on a much more versatile machine that I use daily.

Here is the key to PC and Consoles. PC you have to upgrade about every year to keep NEW games looking good and running smoothly (good framerate) = Costly, Consoles, you're set for about four years, you do NOT have to upgrade because all the games are coded and put the the best settings of that console.

Just read what you said, enlighten me and tell me your specs, and then tell me what you run Oblivion and Hl2 at, because if it's anything below 1280x1024.. I am going to LAUGH that's just disgraceful to the graphic beauty that they implemented into it, also tell me your AA and AF settings. Because all in all, sure you can RUN a NEW game with oudated graphics...but you're really putting the game to shame...even more so when graphic bliss and physics are the craze right now. Here are my specs! 3800+X2 AMD Dual-Core 7800 GTX 256MBGDDR PCI-E 2 GB Corsair XMS Gaming Ram RAM, CPU, and GPU are the main points of getting a game to run at it's full potential...what are yours?

GPU = nVidia GeForce 6800 GS 256 Mb DDR3 CPU = P4 2.8 GHz Socket LGA775 RAM = 1.5 Gb DDR2 Monitor = 17" LCD Resolution = 1280x1024 AF = 2x AA = 2x

My specific stats are pretty irrelevant to the argument...

Not really, heck you could run Doom 3 with a Voodoo 3 if you tried hard enough, notice the "run" it... you'd get about 3fps, yay. Sure, PC Gaming is here to stay for now, but honostly, look dude. The market is ALL OVER consoles, not PC games like it used to be, by PC gaming at a hault (incase you don't know what that means) I meant that as of right now, there aren't going to be any new games for awhile, and the new games, are hitting consoles first. Seriously dude just goo "Pc Gaming dead"? tons of articles about how fed up people are when a new game comes out that requires more power than before (RIGHT AFTER THEY HAVE UPGRADED!) And when did I say consoles are the teh l33t? I said they are a better BUY in the long run and that's why so many people are switching TO THEM. Seriously, just research game marketing, it's gone completly down hill (PC). I'm not going to argue this point anymore as obvious as it is. Oh and High Voltage.. you better be expecting to upgrade, did you forget about Direct X 10? BOOYAH!

Mr. 47.
Half your ass must be in the place of your brain.
So far, everything you have stated has been completly moronic. Your consoles run games for four years because those games are designed and tailored to the console. Meaning it lacks the graphic potential and expansiveness it could have.
Now, for PC games, They design them for top of the line gear, which is going to be top of the line, for round abouts a year. Then you have to start tweeking settings to the game to make it run on your PC. You have to degrade the potential of the game in order to make it fit your comp. Same as game designers have to degrade the quality of their game to suit the console.
my PC will be able to run games for the next six years, Will the games be at their top of the line performance on my PC in six years? no. Will your console games be on par with the top of the line PC games 4 years from now? No.
As far as PC games not being produced... That is just blatently ignorent.
Fact of the matter is, PC games innovate, Consoles immitate.
Proof of this? Youre precious games were devolped on what? None other than a PC, and you best believe it's that way for a reason.
Consoles have their place for gamers, As do PC's. It will always be that way.

Of course games are developed on a PC that's common sense, but if you look, there aren't that many games coming to the pc right now are there?
PC games innovate? Hm.... How so? Consoles have had some of the most unique\new games such as the Wii's new motion-sensor remote... I don't see that on a PC now do I? Now heres my breakdown performance wise as years go by. In six years I doubt you're computer would be able to play.. heck even as of right now most computers aren't even capable of handling the new Crysis Engine... so that's wrong right now. Key to the 360 is that each game, as you said, is made for that console and maxed out, on the PC some games run better on different cards correct? Some games run better on ATI cards than Nvidia cards and vice-versa, with consoles that really dosen't matter. Now on degrading to fit into console, developers can make it a MUCH nicer "downgrade" than a user can by simply turning off AA and AF or lowering the texture quality to billionare, if you know what I mean. Graphical potential as you are stateing, as very stupid to just bring down on a console because you would be doing the same if your card was even remotely out of date, you're not putting it to the max, that's a given. However, Resolutions in consoles also bring out the best graphics, 1080P is absolutely STUNNING compared to 720P and even more so, 480P, we all know that right? The good thing about Consoles is when you jump from resolution to resolution, you don't have a framerate issue where as if you went from 800x600 to 1280x1024 you would. In the end what I was saying is that, and I guess you can't see it either, that PC gaming has drastically decreased (production wise). Feel free to prove me wrong, but I'm seeing atleast 75% more games coming to console than the PC... and very few are being "ported"

wouldnt games that are good depend on the person? You may like one game. I may hate it. so someone may like those CompUSA $9.99 games. So I say your point isnt really valid its just an opinion.

No, what I'm talking about game wise is the games that are made by developers that actually stand out.. compare the console list to the PC list...you'll see some drastic differences.

People have been saying that PC Gaming is dying for years... It's not going anywhere.
And as for games, sure a bunch of new console games are coming out because new consoles are coming out! With PCs you don't get a big surge of games with every new graphics card because the older graphics cards will run them.
Plus in my opinion PCs are easier to use for a lot of things just because of the keyboard and mouse. It's so much more precise than a little thumbstick. That's why I'm so much better at BF2 than at Halo 2. And I've never tried an RTS on console, but I'd guess it's difficult. I think the 360 can accept a keyboard and mouse right? But who wants to use a keyboard on their lap and a mouse on the couch....

I hated the levels on Halo 2 where you where the Arbitor.
Also it would be awesome if you could talk to your troops like in Soccom. Cause the marines are really dumb in Halo.

I killed all my marines before even thinking about progressing into the lvl.

I agree with both of those Da Hui. Playing as the Arbitor introduced you to more of the plot, but I thought it really interruped the story of MasterChief, and I just didn't care what happened to the Arbitor... I just wanted to get back into Chief's helmet. Maybe once 3 comes out we'll appreciate it more.
And as for the Marines... they're impossible to keep alive!! Especially once you get past Normal difficulty. Simple commands would be all I'd want. Stuff like "Stay here, shut up" and "Follow me"

Yes, but who wouldn't want to use a 64 inch HD Hitachi Televisiont to play Portal, TF2, Half-Life, Gears Of War, or Halo 3? (Talking 360 here) RTS on a console.. never tried it either however that LOTR game on 360 got great reviews, and people have always been saying pc GAMING has been dying, true, however there is proof that most major gamedevelopers, have turned to console, It's a bigger market people, and less annoyance as well when releaseing a product. On PC you have to worry about every little spec a user might have, and how it could conflict with the game, then there come the patches, and more patches, etc. If you catch what I'm gettin at, it's very understandable why consoles are dominating...And lets look back at NES... not many people played pc games then right? And jumping to PC games well it was hard to get used to the controls...think about it in this forum, possibly the in ten years or so, we are better with thumbsticks in games than we are with a mouse...it's all about comfrot and feel and ability to easily use the controller.. it can happen, the main reason people stay on PC is because of the Keyboard\Mouse for FPS gaming.. it's great right? What if something like that hit the console world?

Personally, I like gaming on computers much better. The mouse is much more precise and the keyboard allows for an endless amount on controls.
XBL was fun but it still does costs money and there are a lot of annoying kids, from my experience.
Also my computer is about 3 years old and it still runs BF2, HL2, and CS:S with fps around 50-70. I just think computers are much more customizable and you can do more with them.

Resident Evil 5 FTW. I'll stick with a laptop for mobility and a console for games.

Eragon was a great book. Eldest was better. As for them making a game. looks cheesy. The movie. probably will suck as they are leaving a key battle out in my opinion.

Resident Evil 5 does look stunning, I wish they would release some "INGAME" shots though.. even though Capcom has never failed at RE atsept for that crappy shooting one.. what was it? Outbreak or something... arcade point n shoot game...anyway, it looks good and I am happy zee zoMbiEz! are back, PS3 and 360 get that beauty! and Stealth.. Dreamcast was the (ShiZniT) I LOVED that console, and yes.. computers are more customizable but to get graphics showcased in games such as Halo 3, Gears Of War, or heck, even RE5, you're gonna have to do some major spending.. think of how the 360 is made... Three cores understand? Graphics (1) Physics (1) ... I have no idea what they are useing the third for but you catch my drift right?

.....not as "creative" as the nintendo 64.. or "revolutionary" what are you talking about? The Nintendo 4 used cartridges...that is not creative nor "revolutinary" it have a simple control scheme that was very easy at blistering up your thumb. Dreamcast was the most advanced system out at the time vsing the PS and the N64, it also had some of the most unique games such as "FishGuy" "Blue Stinger" and the BEST game ever, "Powerstone" at that time, Dreamcast was by far the most creative and revolutinary.. heck on the MEMORY card you could carry around a sonic gigapet!

yo 47, with my graphics card i CAN game on a 64" HD screen... plus the 360 has media center, that originated on a damned pc. stealth is correct, pc innovates, console immitates.
and yes, i would play portal on a big screen. that game is just going to be r0x0m3.

Yeah, with certain graphic cards you can, but NOT HD! (Unless you have a decent card that supports it) 360 has a Media Center that Microsoft basically made, correct. Did you expect microsoft to make a system that is meant to be your all-in-one and not have "Media Center' which THEY made installed? And technically, you actually have to connect your 360 TO THE Media Center (Computer) to HAVE "Media Center". You can't really say that the PC dosen't copy things from consoles..because it does, and has. Controllers have been ported to PC and vice-versa. Either way, I could careless about what innovates and what immitates, what matters is what is bringing in the most money, and what most game developers will turn to, and right now, and for quite awhile, that will be consoles. If you can't accept that, fine. When people are willing to go out and blow 3,000$ on a HD T.V. to showcase the 360's graphic abilitys, kinda tells you something dosen't it? HD TV sales SKY-ROCKETED on the release of the 360, can't deny that, it's where the market is.

what brings in the most money eh? if you wish to argue the decline of PC gaming yet claim it is more expensive to upgrade or purchase a gaming pc, you can't deny it brings in a ton of money. a console can have an exclusive title, but that doesn't ensure the success of the game. no doubt you will say halo 2 in response to that, but take it from many pc gamers, they don't like halo. not saying they want CS over halo, but it isn't at the top of their lists. hell, look at WoW..
so we boil it down like every other technology debate had here, and end with one conclusive statement. it is purely in the interests of the consumer. i bought a vision instead of an ipod because the creative product does more. same for my phone. same for my pc. i have very new hardware in my pc, i built it in June. i settled on a nice pc instead of a console because gaming is not that big of a thing in my life, i enjoy CS source and gmod with a little UT2k4 now and then. however, i do not play them for a living, i have a life, a job, and attend college. your xbox will not type or print my english composition due next week, but my pc will play games.

You seriously wish to argue that PC GAMING is slowing down and nowhere near as many GOOD games by KNOWN developers are coming out? Ok....I guess you're blind? And once again, you're bringing up OLDER GAMES! Give me something new! And most people have a laptop or desktop to print and type.. that was also very stupid right there, did I say Consoles are replacing Computers? NO! I said GAMING is coming close to being knocked out. You're VALVE has even signed a contract with M$....what do you expect now? I would be expecting some good 'ol 360 Exclusives :) Here's the round up... Consoles have games coming out that you wil be begging to play, are you going to give in, or not? That's the end-factor buddy.

halo came out, i didn't bite. hell xbox, ps, ps2, ps3, xbox 360... i didn't bite at all. i hate the xbox controller period. i am a fan of nintendo, i will own a wii on launch date, and i can play all current nintendo games on my pc.
good for valve, they are going to make more money, but i've yet to see one of the exclusives you speak of. you asked for an upcoming game, i said UT2007, you mentioned old games, i gave you HL2 and the mods. show me games that are uber popular, and i mean CoD II and the like that are console exclusive that pc gamers want on their computer.

Halo to PC was quite possibly the worst port ever, don't even bring that into question, not to mention it came out two years later. And so what if you can play all current nintendo games? Wow, that's amazing, you know because absolutely noone has heard of an Emulator right? Exclusives..ok...here's a few, the ones I am naming are NOT ever coming to PC, Gears Of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, Halo 3,John Woo's Stranglehold, The Darkness (AMAZING), Mass Effect (Biggest RPG Yet), Too Human (Been being made for over ten years), Saint's Row, Lost Planet (Even more stunning), Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, Devil May Cry 4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, those are all the ones that at first, come to mind, that will not be on PC.

Halo to Pc was a terrible port because it was so freaken easy to OWN that game on a PC. Point and click, Point and click.

Not from what Microsoft is saying. Rumor has it Halo 2 has already been canned (PC VERSION). Point and click point and click? Halo's movement was the same in most modern fps.. w s a d, space, ctrl (or c) and then point the mouse onto the enemy and fire......Yeah, that's basically every modern FPS game out right now, so what do you just POINT AND CLICK?

StarCraft will eternaly own all those games.
fact.
The thing that bothers me .47, Is that you assert your OPINION as fact. Truth is, you have NO proof or evidence of the PC market dieing out, nor do you have any PROOF nor evidence to support the claim on Consoles being more player accepted. You assert your claims, based on opinion, as fact.
Thus far, You have'nt actualy posted anything more than a list of games, to support any of your "Factual" claims.

I don't quite remember saying it wasn't.. so where's the loss? A good RTS? Hm.. I can only think of one http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/794/794413.html - http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/794/794413.html RTS is not very big in console gaming, as most people know. if threads were carried on simply by what someone stated in the beginning, nothing would change. nobody would learn or be held responsible for what they said/did wrong.
so yes, in the beginning you said console is larger than pc gaming, but you turned it into pc gaming is at its end, which we all know is wrong. so we go with what has been stated more throughout the thread, which is wrong, pc gaming is NOT ending.

No... I think console gaming is bigger because that's where the market is right now...and I actually don't watch TV...so uh, yeah. And I believe console gaming is even bigger when it comes down to game wise (NEW) that is, not old, there are BILLIONS of old PC titles, but the consoles have all the new games coming to them where as the PC is getting low-budjet games from not-so-good developers.

Free downloads (game content) are already on the 360...mods have shown up as well in games such as Oblvion, now given, it's going to take time to get all of that stuff up and for game developers to take full advantage of the features the 360 has to offer online, it's the first BIG step into massive online communitys via console. I already said there are ALOT more games for PC than Consoles.. OLD games, not new ones...as shown in I think page 3, the big games are hitting the consoles..not the pc. We'll see in a couple of years how this turns out, and just to point out... 360 has Email, Free Demos, Free Game Contents, Themes, Movies, Trailers, Game Videos, Music Videos, and so forth, all for FREE. I'm not even going to go into technical problems that users encounter with PC games that you don't encounter with game consoles (crashes, launches etc which are VERY rare in consoles) Here's what I mean in all.. the market is geared towards consoles correct? If you guys can't see that you are either stupid or blind, game developers are going to focus game making to the biggest most popular market right?
