Um, I am pretty sure A is darker. Are we talking about the square or the letter itself?

Print out the page, cut out the two squares and hold them next to each other. Its pretty awesome.

Or just use photoshop to copy/ paste...saves alot of time.

Or go to PS and use the dropper to get the exact color of each.

Or just use the color dropper tool. Click on one color, then the other, and compare.

It's just one of those trick questions.  It's not refering to the shade of the color, it's refering to the literal lighting condition.  The cylinder casts a shadow on square "B", making it the darker square.  At least thats my way of looking at it.
