So yeah, from day one I have had trouble with the H key but have been able to put it back in....today it popped out and the metal bracket on the keyboard (it has three) one of them broke..I can't put it back in now. I called Dell up (Me and my Dad) and the guy is asking me to POP open the thing, to pop it open you have to first pop-open the Blue-Tooth + Wireless LED and extra LED panels....which is complete crap since we PAID for Onsite service, then he go's, "Well customers are can do somethings" Me and my Dad both can replace computer ram, hard-drives, and so forth, but on this XPS 1210 with the way it is designed neither of us feel confromtable. The guys name is Jeremy he STILL wouldn't send someone out, and the strange thing is, He kept telling me is the plastic bracket broken? I told him many times, it is NOT THE KEY IT IS THE FITTING ON THE KEYBOARD, THE METAL BRACKET! Then he told me again to open it up, and I said "Why?" And he said, "So they you can fix it".... that's when I got silent... The friggin' bracket is GONE, it bent and fell off! So my dad got involved.... So my dad said to him "You sent us a defective computer from day one, we paid for ONSITE Service and I have gotten it before, SEND SOMEONE OUT. This is JUST like Ford when they give us a bad radiator, and say "Sorry, here's a new radiator and some wrenchs to hook it up", If you do not send us a on-site we will get an attorney since you are NOT giving us the services that we paid for" The punk STILL wouldn't send someone out, So we asked to speak to his super-visor "He's not here" so my dad said "Tell him to call me on the home phone" then the guy said "OK, He will tommorow", So then we got the annoying little pricks Code and Name so that we can report him.... I mean come on, we ordered a laptop that was VERY expensive (3,000+$) and paid for full support...yet they won't help? I have NEVER been this pissed at a company before! The support was HORRIBLE and the guy was an IDIOT...just letting you guys know Dell's service

Amusing that I spoke with a mentally challenged Dell Advisor who had no idea about the XPS line and the difference of the keyboards compared to Inspirions.....ok, that's great Hybrid. And yeah.. My dad has GREAT service with his Insprion Latop, he called two times, each time they sent someone out.. the the XPS Tech Group they are supposed to be BETTER and FASTER.....they aren't. And Hybrid, if you were in my spot you would be quite pissed too after you shelled out $3,000...I sense bad karma awaiting you ------------- T |

The contract said we will repair any defects etc on site....that example was perfect... they were trying to make US fix it when we PAID for them to come out and fix it....tell me how my dad sounds like a retard? No! I love my Laptop, it's blazing fast, it's just the support from Dell that I'm getting is HORRIBLE, when you pay for COMPLETE COVERAGE for THREE years you're supposed to GET what you pay for, I'm not getting what I paid for! It's complete CRAP, if they don't send someone out here we can easily get money from the since they lied on the contract, or we could just do what they REALLY don't want us to do.. send it back.

Maybe this will explain what happend more..[22:29] EliteEagleX: Well, my H-Key bracket finally broke, from day one the H-key would pop out, and the H-Key itself is intact, the metal brackets on the Keyboard broke.. [22:29] EliteEagleX: so we call dell [22:29] EliteEagleX: This dumbass jermy dosen't understand that it is the METAL bracket [22:29] EliteEagleX: Then he finally gets it [22:30] EliteEagleX: and is like "Well, just open up your computer.. put a flat-head on the side.. and PULL upward...)... that SIDE part has about 9 led lights, and three power status buttons [22:30] EliteEagleX: The MX1210 is NOT user-friendly open wise, me nor my dad feel comfromtable opening it up [22:30] EliteEagleX: So then we say "Why would we open it up.. we DONT HAVE THE BRACKET, it BROKE OFF" [22:30] EliteEagleX: The guy then says "Customers can do somethings" [22:31] EliteEagleX: We were both like.. "W.T.F" [22:31] EliteEagleX: "We paid for complete coverage, we are both experianced in installing ram, harddrives, and cd roms in laptops, but on this one, we do not feel comfromtable opening up!" Well, when I was 7, I went to a private school...the school required all students to own a laptop...by age 8 I was a Myst-Addict...if you know that game...my whole life has basically been around computers and technology.... not actually a good thing if you think about it, but that also means I learned alot, today I proved the teacher wrong Micro-Computers

No, lawsuit over that they won't repair a defective one... Incase you didn't know, there aren't any stores that can ORDER Dell parts, when reparing a Dell, you HAVE to deal with them, and this super-small piece, well, let's just say I have no idea how I would get it if I wasn't going through dell, and yes, a broken key, that whenever you hit, flies out, while typing paragraphs, becomes VERY ANNOYING! Should I not be attempting to get USE the WARRANTY that I PAID FOR on it? Should I just send it in and PAY them to fix it? If you actually know a place where you can take a deal, and they actually have a good enough rep with dell, that they can order parts like this, SHOW ME. If I could fix it myself I would, I've fixed my Thinkpads Keyboard many times, but it did not have metal brackets that are sodered to the base and can EASILY bend >.< I guess in Canada you guys sit back and wait until a part magically arrives? No, here, if something breaks, I walk into any authorized retailer, they pop out the battery to read the serial, say "just a minute" replace the part and hand it back to me. At most I have to wait an hour, where I just wander around for a bit, then come back, and its fixed.
It gets confusing sometimes, all that simplicity. |

Alright Revo, calm down. First off, maybe it was just a misunderstanding. You said you were told the tech support supervisor is going to call you back. Give him a chance to call tomorrow and make things right.

As you can see, the bracket on the right is missing. And it's an UBER small piece.. and Choopie, you can NOT order these parts from anyone BUT Dell.. infact you can't order them, they have to REPLACE IT after INSPECTING it.

H-Key is the only problem I've had...and I've had it from day one >.< I just didn't make anything of it since I COULD Put it back in...now I can't. And yes, the keyboard seems to not be "too reliable" as of right now And Shub, I know I have that attitude towards certain people, I do have people that I classify as my "enemies" on this forum because no matter what, we argue. And when I'm this frustrated...meh, I think I'll go play Blood Money and F.E.A.R... I'll be back once my aggression has sub-sided.

Quite enjoyable actually...only confrontation I ever have in my life is with TehGangster, Choopie, HV, and well, you... so I guess my main argumental place is here....how would I live without it? T&O has so many meanings that I'm not even going to attempt..actually I am Testing & Operating Taste & Odor Trauma & Orthopaedics If you are trying to say that I haven't helped people in the Gun\Maintence OR Upgrades section.. maybe it's time to actually go there? ------------- T |

Ok... enlighten me to something on the Upgrades\Gun Maintence sections of the forums that actually HELP paintball players, and tell me what I said that is bull, go ahead, I'll wait. And no Choopie it dosen't, but I would be less prone to argue with you or stealth or tehg...crap no that's it. Everything that I have been argueing with hasn't even been in the Maintence\Upgrades forums.. it's all Thoughts And Opinons... Apothesis.. I just saw your picture... and I could have sworn I have seen you in R\L....do you live in Georgia? You look exactly like someone that works at a Sports Authority near me....I only know him because he fills up my C02 tanks.
